Catalina Restaurant

Long waits and then being served the wrong dish for 2 out three courses is well below par for this type of restaurant. When the right dishes finally came food was reasonable but nothing exceptional hence not at all high on the value for money scale. Was this a consequence of choosing the fixed price menu?

Food and service is beyond expectations. Views at night are just amazing.

Absolutely beautiful food and views! I am in awe of the quality here. The food is superb and it is fine dining at its best. Professional service and modern food with a beautiful touch of presentation.

Firstly, the view is awesome, especially when you go in the evening around sunset.
It is a spacious, waterfront place filled with crisp linen & service, fresh, modern food & a magazine sized drinks list to peruse. Whether it's for a birthday, anniversary, mothers day or a girls lunch, whatever food you choose to eat from freshly shuckes oysters to sushi to their amazing smoked salmon with a rich, gooey duck egg & brioche toast, or the lobster fettucini to steak, you cant go wrong.

Consistently great food with a beautiful setting, wonderful service and lovely atmosphere. What else is there to say? 5 stars

My family that lives in NSW went to this great restaurants they said it had great service .

The view is great however the service is not what you expect from this kind of restaurant.
The staff is allowing physical contact with the customer (one staff put his hand on my shoulder, and wasn't the most polite!)
When you pay theses prices you expect the service to be irreproachable
Food is good but a little overpriced

Lovely and clean with exceptionally amazing and delicious food. Fantastically located along with the perfectly set out restaurant. It is my new favorite place to eat.

Lovely food, lovely setting - the whole experience was so enjoyable. We were a large group and were very well looked after - everybody loved their food and had a great time

Nice food, great service, price probably a little higher but understandable as its in eastern suburbs. Probably could do with a few more seafood dishes on the menu but certainly would be back to try more.

Loved the food and the view was amazing. Out with a small group of friends and the service was excellent. Good portions. will be back again

I was here with a group of 10 and they organised it well. Plenty of food and it was all so good. Lots of different items to try and the presentation was fantastic, chef has a great skill and is talented.
This restaurant offers a beautiful harbor view so I often choose this place to have dinner with my husband. Not only offers a comfortable atmosphere and attractive scenery, Catalina also has a line of delicious menu.
I had the pork belly for an entrée - it was beautifully cooked and tasted fantastic.

My girlfriend and I went here for a date and we appreciate the great service and the great food will definitely recommend to my friends.

This is now one of my favourite restaurant, number 1 because of the food, number 2 because of the view.

Catalina is just perfect. The food is honestly some of the best food I have ever eaten and the location is completely amazing. I have been going to catalina for many years and it just keeps getting better!

This is one of the all time best restaurants in Sydney! The food is great and the view is even better. The service is five star and I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal. Plus, you can even fly right up to the restaurant on one of the Rose Bay Sea Planes. Amazing.

Catalina simply cannot be beaten. The service is a perfect mix of friendly and professional. The food, particularly yesterday is always spot on. Once a place for special occasions, now my first thought when dining out. A must if entertaining friends or business associates from out of town.

This is an absolutely amazing place to dine. The staff are so friendly and welcoming that you feel like part of the family. The lamb rack that I had just melted in my mouth while the parsnip puree and crisps were a perfect accompaniment. There's a baby suckling pig on the menu and I saw one go past. It was beautifully presented and I'm not a pork eater but it smelt divine. I like that the desert menu is quite extensive, too. It's an ideal place to go for a special occasion.

A long time ago I had my 25th birthday lunch here with just my fiancé and I, and its still the best birthday I have ever had. The food was exquisite, the service perfect, the venue amazing, and for something unusual - because the old Catalina sea-plane was right there and we thought "why the hell not?" - we took off on a 15 minute plan ride over the most beautiful harbour in the world (as an ex-sailor I say this with confidence). Then, upon landing, our dessert was right there waiting for us. You cant get a better experience than that!
This time around we didn't quite go to such extremes but the food was still brilliant, as was the service. The venue is simply stunning still - age has not wearied this restaurant.

if u want to go to waterfront resturant this is the place to go.they have a beautiful range of fresh seafood dishes if u dont like seafood they have chicken dishes.they also had sushi as there was a japanese staff,good staff but a bit pricey

This is a very nice view and convenient place, just go there by ferry or bus. We went there last time for my friend's birthday. All of our guests are very happy with them meal (their oysters) and service. It is very good place for party. Recommended.

Best to visit for an extraordinary celebration as the place can leave a nasty hole in you pocket. But the service is tres bien and the food is too good to put a price to.

Take the ferry to Rose Bay and step straight into Catalina Restaurant. Absolute perfection in every way. The ultimate in fresh seafood & excellence in service.

This is one for a very special occasion, top quality, silver service restaurant it what can only be described as one of the best locations in Sydney, right on the water at Rose Bay. Exceptionally attentive staff and excellent variety of food. look out for specials mid week as it is pricey!!

We went to Catalina's for my sisters 21st birthday and it was amazing!! Beautiful views, delicious food and exceptional service. It is expensive but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended for any special occasion.

fabulous views for this upmarket seafood restaurant. excellent service compliments what is a great menu. this all does not come cheap which is my biggest gripe. if you are not a seafood lover then they do have steaks and other meals which are also excellent.

Two visits to Catalina and also discussed with a few friends about the overall experience here.

1. Fantastic location, brilliant view and pleasant fit-out with linen cloths and comfortable chairs.
2. Great food, equivalent to the one hat status.
3. The service was very attentive, the atmosphere perfect, and food delicious.
