I had my mazda serviced here for years starting with its first service. After the first couple I kept being told that I needed to have extra repairs done. I know nothing about cars so would authorise the extras until I was told I needed urgent repairs that would cost almost $3000. As my car was only 3 years old I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion, they replaced the battery for $160 and I've not had another issue despite driving a further 25 000ks and undergoing two services at reputable mazda dealers since. which is amazing as the person at centenary was so "worried about me driving the car without the repairs" These people don't seem to realise that by claiming that a newish car constantly needs repairs they're hardly convincing people about the reliability of mazdas. Avoid them, they will try to charge you for work that does not need to be done.

I must agree with ibbo14, I have just purchased a new car and have experienced quite poor customer service. My experience was with the tyres not being rotated which was a part of the service. Upon pointing this out, I was told I was wrong as the workshop card said it was done! After some discussion about how I knew that the wheels had not been moved it was decided that I would be allowed to bring my car in for a "FREE" wheel rotation. (Not really free as I have paid for it already...) Anyhow a week later I arranged to bring my car back for the "free" wheel rotation that would take no longer than 30 minutes or so... I sat for nearly two hours before a sheepish service attendent slunk in an offered a half hearted apology for the inconvenience and I was able to leave. I have since sent in some feedback to the General Manager, but have not received any response. I spoke to Mazda Australia however and received a very sincere apology. I guess the advice is don't be mesmerised by the cafe/surroundings and slick marketing/sales people.

I have purchased two vehicles from them and had the worst service experience from them. I used to be a mechanic for Renault back in Europe, so I do know what servicing a car involves. Now I work in a different trade as I simply working under the bonnet does not offer many career opportunities. 1- Oil was poured into the engine without the use of a funnel. Left engine bay messy and caused damage to additional components such as engine belt and alternator bearings. This resulted in a loud screeching noise when i start the car and drive off. They expected me to fork out for their mess ups and have the belt replaced at my expense. Funny thing is that I did have another mechanic replace the belt and problem was still there. 2- Screws are always missing. Also, if they do not have a part available for a car being serviced before yours, they will yank it out and replace it with another while some one runs and gets the part from the supplier and fit it into your car before you pick it up. Happened with my water pump as I noticed there was a bit of rust and this is only caused if your car is not parked in a garage, more prone to the rain. 3- Spoke to the management regarding the issue, and kept on going on about the life span of the components without realizing that I actually did replace the parts they stated required replacing. They even commented that I do not even know anything about mechanics, when they do not even know my working history. For mechanics out there, they claim that they tensioned a self tension belt! Great going, you really know your cars. 4- The management claims that the alternator has a life span of 6 years and must be replaced then. I've had 20 year old cars with the same alternator running fine on them. If you care about your safety and want to ensure that your car actually gets serviced by a qualified mechanic.
