10 reviews about Chanoma Cafe

I couldn't say enough about this business. I am an absolute crazy fan for anything matcha/green tea, and this cafe definitely serves my expectations. I find myself always craving the soft serves from this cafe, that are generous portions and very aesthetic (for photo-taking). There are also savoury options. I keep going back!

Approximate cost: $6

If you love matcha, you will LOVE Chanoma! The matcha soft serve is creamy and delicious. I also can't wait to try the 'matcha christmas tree' which is like bingsoo (shave ice dessert) which is out now for the holiday season.

I totally agree! This cafe is definitely one I will be revisiting for the matcha items.

I love this small Japanese cafe, it sells so many matcha items, which is heaven for me. I like the matcha latte, it is creamy and rich in matcha flavour. I also ate the tonkatsu dog which is basically deep fried, so naughty but so delicious. Their shaked chips with a variety of seasonings is yummy too. Basically if you want a great matcha fix, come here for matcha heaven.

This is the place to come if you're obsessed with matcha/green tea. I love the matcha frappe! The hot dogs there are also pretty good as is the matcha soft serve (only served in summer).

I totally agree, the items are spectacular.

As a green tea "everything" lover, and with the close-down of the Japan City street food court in Chatswood, where I used to get my matcha parfait fix, the discovery of Chanoma Cafe is where I go to now, to get my Green Tea fix. Decently priced, fast service, cute little joint where lots of young people hang out. As mentioned by the other reviewers, their menu includes your atypical hot dogs such as creamy shrimp croquette dog, spicy meat lovers dog, teriyaki chicken dog etc, fries as well as a variety of other matcha drinks or soft serves.

As a fellow green tea lover, I followed this review and totally agree!

Like all other reviewers have mentioned, this place serves a lot of green tea based desserts, frappe, shake etc.

Been here couple of times to hang out, and love their matcha soft serve. Sometimes I just get take away in a cone and it is very cheap too only $2.90.

They also serve hot dogs with unusual toppings (non traditional western styles) which I haven't tried. Maybe next time :)

The fact that they serve savoury options as well is definitely a plus!

Green tea lovers should definitely check this place out. They serve all sorts of matcha-based drinks and desserts, as well as hot dogs which taste really good. Recommendations include the creamy shrimp croquette dog, spicy meat lovers dog, and the matcha float. Their green tea ice cream (also comes in the float!) is one of the best I've tasted in Sydney. A great place to chat with friends while indulging your inner matcha-phile. The prices aren't cheap, but overall definitely a place I would like to visit often.

If you like green tea food this is the cafe to go to. Heaps and heaps of green tea desserts, drinks, sweets to choose from. The prices are quite reasonable with a green tea frappe around $6. Cheapest is soft serve green tea ice cream in waffle cone for $2.90. The green tea ice cream is quite bitter and very green, but doesn't have the tea powder taste that you get at Japanese restaurants which leads me to the conclusion that there was a lot of green coloring and not much tea powder.

I agree that sometimes the green tea powder can be a little weak, but otherwise delicious.

I absolutely love matcha, so when I found out there was actually a matcha cafe I was extremely excited.
I ordered the ice matcha latte - when the waitress asks if you want it sweet SAY YES. I said no and my latte ended up tasting bitter.
The environment is very cozy and cute.
There are many choices, I can't wait to go there again to try more.

Approximate cost: $6
