Our kids loved visiting Chesterfield farm; really nice to walk around, see animals up close and old farm machinery etc. We also went to a birthday party there and it was such a fantastic venue for a kids' party - the kids all watched a cow-milking demonstration, had tractor rides, and sat in a private covered area for the birthday celebrations.

We had a lovely day here. We brought our own picnic lunch, and it was nice to go to a place where you can bring your own food, to make the day a little cheaper :) We didn't even look at the cafe, so that doesn't bother me.

We got watch the sheepdog at work and take a ride on the tractor thing that takes you around the farm. My daughter got to have a go milking a cow, and the lady was really kind and understanding when my daughter was a bit afraid. Instead of just going onto the next person, she took some time to gently coax my little one to have a go.

Wonderful day out with the kids - a fantastic hands on experience to get up close with farm animals. Another group there was having a party, it looked like they had a special party room. You can take a barbie and have a picnic too.

I'd never heard of this place but a friend suggested we go there to catch up with some other friends with young kids. We were not disappointed - the kids loved it and the adults had a great time strolling around the beautiful grounds. They had a show on (at 2pm on a Sunday) where they showed the kids a sheep dog in action, shearing a sheep and feeding lambs. They also had a great nursery area where the kids could go and hold the young chickens and rabbits and pat the piglets and lambs. We bought the kids a bag of feed each and as we walked around they loved feeding all the different animals.
