My review is of the Bar. I haven't eaten in the restaurant, but have eaten the paella at the bar which is awesome. As is the mulled wine. And the Czech draught beer. And the wonderful bar staff. And the funky clientele. And the decor. It's really a great place.

eclectic decor, busy bustling crowd, good food and if the restaurant's too full, the food they serve at the bar is fantastic (love the mussels). the monday night poetry readings in the bar and great music also go down a treat.

Absolutely a must for seafood lovers. Great selection, followed by many wonderful ways to for them to be cooked. I also love the antipasto selection which is a great way to hold off the hunger while the food is being prepared. Another bonus- you can BYO!

This place is great if you're going with a group. You can order lots of dishes and then share them all, so you get a variety of things to eat and the individual price is still reasonable.. The dishes are varied and there are some interesting ingredient combinations. The staff are friendly and attentive and will help you out if you have any questions. Dishes are priced by their size so expect to pay more for a large fish, for example. The bigger your table is, the better value you get when ordering the more pricey menu items.

Oh as for the food itself. It was all awesome!

I love the fish they serve at Clay Pots St Kilda. I went there with some friends of mine on their holidays because as soon as they get back to Australia one of the first things they ant to do is go to Clay Pots! Just a great lace for fish cooked just right

Approximate cost: $30

We came here a few months back with a friend from out of town. We ordered a Moroccan claypot, which was delicious, as well as a large crispy John Dory. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, unfortunately, the prep chef needs to be more conscientious about removing scales as my friend nearly choked on some. The bar is also excellent, try the Jules and Jim - addictive!

Claypots is a relaxed, friendly restaurant with good food. The dishes range in prices and it is BYO which keeps the price down.
