I went to Competition Tyres this morning after I was told by Hyundai in Ferntree Gully that 2 Nexen tyres on my brand new i30 had separated and that basically it was not their problem and I would have to deal with Nexen itself, so in other words, made it someone else problem.
Nick spent a long time on the phone with Nexen trying to find out who would bear the cost, and a call to Huyndai to get the history. Then on closer inspection, tests and taking the car for a couple of rides, it turned out that there was actually nothing wrong at all with the tyres.
So Nick and his boss wasted probably over an hour trying to help me, just because of the incompetence of someone else, and they refused to charge me, which I found incredibly generous.
If they were that kind to me, who was not even a client, I can only imagine how they are with their customers. Actually while I was there, a client started talking to me and had nothing but praises for these people.
Also, while I was waiting, I had the opportunity to see them deal with clients on the phone, and I was really impressed by their competence and kindness.
I live in Boronia, over 40kms away, but when I need new tyres, I know where I will go.
