ok the pool is an iconic landmark. just be aware that its the harbor an not a pool. good for a trip down memory lane - great setting
We are not local to the pool but visit for water polo games. I have not swum there, my daughter hates swimming there, my son loves it. It is very pleasant to sit on the board walk and even on the hottest summer day there was a really nice breeze. My daughter has come out with rashes and the girls generally hate swimming with the ocean creatures, but the boys love jumping of the decking and catching all the blubbers. Hard to get a car park on the weekend.
Nice local swimming pool that I love to go for relaxing. It is quite quiet with reasonable entry fees. The pool is good to swim in as well (unlike some of the chlorine-infested places I've been!).
This is the best place to spend a lazy summer afternoon. Even though the water can be pretty polluted, there is a great little kiosk with all the australian snacks & lollies, and the wooden boards are so nice to lie on after the sun has been shining on them all day. Cheap entry, gorgeous view. Take a picnic!
Approximate cost: $5
This would be one of the nicest harbour pools out there. It's a nice alternative to the beach whilst still being able to swim laps in ocean water. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed, and most people seem to have a good time whilst they're there.
The pool is a fenced off area of Syndey harbour. It is a great old pool with heaps of character and a great park behind it so it is very green and leafy and relaxing. Most people down there seem pretty relaxed and friendly as well.
Approximate cost: $3
