My partner had the best gourmet venison sausage in bread (at least the moans that emanated from him made me think they were the best), whilst I had little poffertje's that were little pillows of yum. I purchased some fruit trees, herb seedlings, vintage bits and beautiful locally grown veggies - I love this market, well worth the trip over.
Visited the Daylesford Market this weekend and its definitely worth a visit. I got a good coffee (the place also sold those little Dutch pancakes, but as I had just eaten breakfast, I skipped on those) on my way to check out the restoration work that has been done on the old Daylesford Railway station and trains. Pretty impressive stuff - you can also go on rides for $8 return out to nearby Bullarto, about 15 kms away.
The market had a good variety of things for sale from organic vegies to old records, and honey to socks. I liked the sizing of the eggs being sold by one stall holder - Large, Jumbo and Bum Buster!

The Daylesford Sunday Market is defeniately worth a look next time you are up there. I have been going there as a stall holder (Silver Addict) for the past 2 years and as a local patron for the past 25! It is definately a country market, with soaps, clothes, trash n' treasure, baked goods and some craft- there even some of the same stall holders since I was a Daylesford local. It is slowly changing with the recent addition of a chai tea stall and some more quality stalls. If you are there early enough you will see the antique dealers out looking for a bargin. When you need a break form the market take a ride on one of the refurbished tains to see the local country side.
The Daylesford Market happens every sunday of the year, rain, hail or shine (sometimes all in one day).
Approximate cost: $free
