These guys have a sign out on the street saying "dry cleaning - 3 garments for $18". I went in with three garments and the lady wrote me out a slip for $18 as per plan. However, upon collecting my clothes, the price had mysteriously risen to $29. The bloke told me it was because "the dry cleaner charges it, it's not us" (?). He then back-tracked and said he'd "be happy with $20". I took out my eftpos card and he then changed his mind again, and said he could only give a "discount" of $20 if I paid him cash!!! As I had no cash, he ended up randomly plucking $25 out of the ether as the cost - which I paid just to get out of there. He said as I left, "next time I'll give you another discount"... however, this one was a price inflation for starters, and, more pertinently, there won't be a next time!! On the plus side, the cleaning was up to scratch. Phew...
