About the South.Point Tuggeranong store and thus is a review totally NOT recommending at all. Very disappointed with the patronising way I was served thus afternoon. I had ordered a lime tart through their online order site with email registering as sent (with dark writing on dark background on the website - hard to see if sent or not)! But the email was sent - TO WHERE? Because there was no response/reply. On arrival at the Greenway Dobinson store there’s no order and women there made inane comments making up a replacement tray charging more no store manners - as in charging the same for the order on the email that was not responded to - a disastrous website ! So disappointed how I was served this afternoon with limited understanding by staff member and the fact that there was no acknowledgement or recognition that their website needs reviewing. Lost a customer particularly because there was not a sorry from her the entire interaction time & she did not say “ sorry I’ll make up the tart fur the same price” no but at all so trivially charged an extra $3:24 or so - stupidly I paid that & left feeling patronised by the franchisee / bad service/ bad customer relations / bad website / I wonder whether the tart will taste as bitter as this interaction was today. Not a future customer.

DELICIOUS and surprisingly cheap! Whether it's a bakery treat or a main meal, the food is great! The coffee is ok - nothing to write home about but hands down a great choice for a meal or takeaway!

Dobinsons is excellent for grabbing a tart or cake to share, we often use it for work morning teas and it's always popular. A little bit pricey but so tasty!

Dobinsons Bakery was my life saver on the early weekend morning when no other cafes were open. Their food is really good and the menu is huge. They sell a great range of delicious cakes, bread and these huge sausage rolls.

Dobinsons is great for picking up baked goods for an office morning or afternoon tea - their tarts are to die for and always go very quickly.

As other reviewers have noted, the eat-in service has dropped off recently, but I would still recommend Dobinsons if you want to pick up a sweet treat.

I'd like to echo the comments of the more recent reviewers... the VFM here is amazing and the food and drinks taste great, but since the renovations were completed I've noticed a drop in the quality of the service, which is a bummer.

while holidaying in canberra i had a pie and tart from here with a cold drink the pie was just yummy and i really enjoyed the tart as well nice neat clear store as well with plenty on offer to choose from was a little disapointed in the customer service as there really was none plain rude service so i only called in here the once while staying here for a week

Its very unfortunate that the service level here has completely dropped, they just dont seem to care about providing good customer service and this is why i will no longer go here. it has not just been one time, but every occassion i go there now i receive some of the poorest customer service i have experienced and I am sick of it and i refuse to ever return. in all honesty i can find better food elsewhere with better service, as this is one of the main reasons i will return to a place, Customer service!

Dobinson's is a Canberra fixture. It's longevity is due entirely to it's consistently delicious food and drinks. Family favourites include:

* The best tarts in Canberra (Banana caramel with passionfruit and cream, strawberry and custard, lemon, chocolate ganache, vanilla, fruit etc)
* Some of the best pies in Canberra (with too many flavours to mention)
* Huge, flaky sausage rolls
* Delicious ciabatta rolls loaded with fresh salad and treats such as Moroccan chicken
* A variety of fresh homestyle bread and rolls to take home
* Excellent coffee
* Great milkshakes and smoothies loaded with fruit
* Huge breakfasts
* A great variety of cafe-style mains, plated up with huge salads

Prices are very reasonable, servings are large, and tables are available both inside and outside, under cover. In winter lap blankets and heaters are provided. This is a great place for anything from a quick snack to a lazy Sunday breakfast, all in the heart of Canberra's Civic shopping precinct. The only downside is the very limited on-street parking, but plenty of paid parking is available in the Canberra Centre (Dobinson's is actually on the Bunda Street side of the Canberra Centre, between the ANZ and Wheel and Barrow). The outside tables are pram-friendly and the whole cafe is very child-friendly.

Dobinsons is by far the best bakery/burgers place in Canberra! Things great about it include:

*How you can get great food for not very much money (burgers for $12.50, delicious tarts under $4, milkshalkes around $5)

*Their burgers! Huge, tasty burgers (my favourite is the Aussie burger, which has a generously sized chicken schnitzel, cheese, beetroot, egg, bacon and BBQ sauce on freshly bake bread) served with a large helping of fantastic wedges and a garden salad with honey mustard dressing. It's more than enough for 2 people to share, because that way you can also get dessert!

*Their desserts. Dobinsons do an endless variety of tarts, including chocolate ganache, banana caramel, fruit flan, strawberry, white chocolate cheesecake, lemon, custard and apple pie.

It's quick, tasty, filling and inexpensive. It's one of my favourite places for a lazy weekend lunch.
