I needed over night accomodation for my two dogs and was told they would be taken home with a member of staff and cared for in their home. This was what I was told would happen and this is what I paid for. I trusted I was being told the truth.

Recently I learned (through articles in local newspapers and communication with ex-employees) the dogs are never taken home by staff members. Instead, they are left in the company's warehouse over night, unsupervised.

I paid for a service I believe I never received and I'd like to warn others not to make the same (trusting) mistake.

Please research this company thoroughly before sending your dogs there.

I paid in advance for my dog to be boarded over the Xmas NY period. I was assured that she 'would go home with one of our staff and be cared for like she was our own". Well she wasn't! She locked in a warehouse and escaped. I have recorded the owner, saying that she doesn't have to reimburse me b/c I didn't tell her my dog is jumps fences. In the same recording she says, you told me she jumps fences. Armed with this knowledge they still my money and my dog and did nothing to prevent her escape in my absence. Fortunately, my dog was picked up by the RSPCA unharmed. In the meantime I was in a frantic drive back to Melbourne from Port Fairy to help in the search for my dog. Of note is the fact that Dog Central called me at 3pm and told me my dog was missing at 7am!!!!! On my drive back to Melbourne I called the RSPCA who were able to tell me my dog had been recovered. I was advised that staff personally went to the RSPCA and Lort Smith to find her - this is not the case. Nobody but myself enquired about my dog. Please also visit FB page: DOG CENTRAL DAY CARE - THE FACTS. Dog Central also employs disabled people that are not paid correctly. Complaints have also been published in leader newspapers.
Please note: I only sought RSPCA recevory fee $71 reimbursement, not the additional expenses I incurred.

Approximate cost: $400

Thats a terrible experience! Hope your dog is okay now! Not sure if you can, have you spoken to the RSPCA or another relevant authority about reporting this company for their bad service?

My dog loves it and wants to go each day. When we go away he doesn't need to go to a strange place with strange people - he already knows them & feels comfortable & can play with his friends. The sleepovers and daycare are excellent value when you compare them to a kennel as you don't have to pay extra. There are 3 locations now, & they all seem to be equally good.

Approximate cost: $35/day
