Don Don Japanese Restaurant offers Donburi with teriyaki sauce at a price which I just can't ask for more. Great value and great service too! Almost never have to wait. A good budget lunch place.

Highly recommend this place, very popular with uni students as it is cheap eats. Large portions, quick service and very cheap prices. Location being next to MC makes this place very convenient.

Oh my gosh. Don Don is incredible, what else can I say really? Firstly you know it's good when it's cram packed full of people, and the price of meals is out of this world cheap! Every time I've been I've ordered the vegetarian don which sweet jeebus is delicious. The tofu is perfectly soft yet still firm, the pickled red capsicum and ginger are crunchy and fresh, and the sauce, wowie! the sauce! it's everything you want during a busy lunch hour in the city, it's thick, warm, comforting and totally addictive, and they serve it with just the right amount of rice so the rice doesn't dilute the sauce, just enough to hold onto it. Okay I'm getting cravings now.

Use to be a frequent eater at Don dons as I really enjoyed their flavour and also for the value. Each dish only cost around $7-8. However I stopped going after once discovering a dead beetle in my soup half way through eating it. When I spoke to them about the issue they were quick to apologise and asked whether I wanted a refund or another soup. I was very surprised when they did nothing about the broth and soup they were serving the Niku Udon in which had the beetle cooking in there, I didn't address the issue any further as I was on my break from work and needed to get back. As much as I would like to go back for the flavours and value, I don't think I could because of that once incident.

I have to admit that I was amazed at the great taste from this restaurant. The chefs there must have a secret recipe. The waiters are kind and caring and the prices are amazingly cheap. I would recommend this to anybody. 10/10

Amazing value, very good quality too. You will be amazed how fast these guys make your meal. Once you order and are just exchanging cash, more often than not you will find you're meal awaiting you. Great to order and then takeaway to the state library.

Fast, fast, fast food! You have to keep your wits about you here or No Don for you! Lots of choice and the food is very cheap. I love the curry - you really would have to look hard to find a better lunch in the city at this price.

A healthy, cheap and cheerful japanese cafe. $7 will get you a balanced meal of sizeable proportions. Service is brisk and the kitchen is always pumping - testament to the fact that this place keeps its patrons happy and coming back for more.

For $5.90, the tofu curry don is excellent. The portions are huge too and staff are super quick so make sure you know what you're getting and have money ready before you get to the front of the queue. This place gets super busy at meal times but is still really fast.

Don Tojo in Carlton is Don Don's licensed brother ($3 beers!), and a bit larger but still essentially the same.

Great place to either eat in or take away. Make sure you know what you want before you get in the queu because your meal is almost instantaneous. Their tofu curry is great and so is their boxed sets. Very reasonably priced. I would suggest they have pictures of the meals up so customers can see what they are actually ordering. Not an extensive menu but covers most tastes. Love the place.
