Had my first Japanese Don meal set experience here. Been eating here since studying at the state library back in the 90s. Went back there this week and the stuff is still the same. Very nice!

We love this place. Their tofu curry is great and so is the salmon. We often run down on a Sunday evening for takaway. It costs about $14 for two tofu currys and the service is instant. A really great place.

This place has my favorite Curry Chicken Don. The curry sauce is so rich and full of flavours. They are always very generous with the sauce. The chicken pieces are grilled marinated teriyaki chiken, add a heaped tablespoon of chilli powder = PERFECT combo

Super fast, cheap meals available here. I generally spend about $10 on the bento boxes. It's a rather run down little shop but no one is here for the decor or to propose marriage! Your meals take about 2-3 minutes - I know, it's super fast! Taste wise is good for the money given the time it takes to get to your hot little hands. It's not fabulous but this the nature of the beast - speed and low price.
I like the bento boxes (miso soup, spring roll, main dish, rice, fruit/salad) as I get bored of eating the one dish. The bentos also have seasonal fruit which is nice to have when you know you have devoured deep-fried chicken or pork! There is not real service here... it is actually order at the counter and pay.
Like the food pumped out with Japanese efficiency, this is no place to linger.

Recommended if you want a quick meal that's easy on the back pocket.

If you are looking to a quick meal..go to Don Don restaurant. Once you have ordered your food and your meal will be ready by the time you are paying for your meal at the counter.. Very fast service.. it is awesome... It is reasonable price too (less than $10)

I was in the city after work, looking for a place to eat Asian, where I could feel comfortable eating for one. I walked past Don Dons, peered inside and thought this was perfect. Sure enough, there were solo diners in here and the menu was a nice surprise, mostly in regards to the price. I ordered tofu curry which came in a flash and in a huge bowl. Very tasty, cheap and quick service. Highly recommended for a quick meal, whether with friends or on your own. I can't believe that I didn't walk into this place earlier, after walking past it so many times

A great place for a no fuss, tasty and quick lunch. Sells one of the best curry chicken in Melbourne and cheap too. Love the fact that they have a large container of chilly powders for those who prefer more heat in their curries. The curry sauce is so tasty and authentic. The grilled chicken that comes with the curry is well seasoned.

The food is instantly ready, extremely cheap and very authentic. The decor isn't the best, and it is very noisy when busy (which is al the time) but for the food and the price, you cannot go wrong.
