I could not speak more highly of Nicole and her team. I was referred to Nicole in July 2020 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, nearly 2 years on I am still a current patient. Nicole’s caring attitude and nurturing nature has made my journey so much easier to deal with and I know I would not be here now without her.
There have been times when I have needed to see her last minute and this has never been an issue, she will always make time no matter how busy she is.
Nicole is the ultimate professional and I am glad she is in my life.

There is usually very little time between discovering a lump in your breast and surgery to remove the immediate danger. Yet, I paused for a minute to read up about Dr.Yap. Being an IT professional I met her with mixed emotions - emotion of fear and what values does this person have towards their work and patient. Dr.Yap instantly went into this carer's mode which made me so comfortable. Her work ethics, ability to treat me as a person rather than a number has only cemented my initial view of Dr.Yap. Since, my first day I have had 3 surgeries and countless appointments with Dr.Yap. All of which has been with the same level of caring, advice, personal understanding and empathy. I would recommend Dr.Yap to my family and to anyone who like me is looking for 'real' caring in their surgeons.

I highly recommend Dr Nicole. I was referred to her just over a couple of months ago, and from the beginning she has been thorough and precise. She has remained kind, open and explained everything perfectly. She has answered every single one of my questions, and wasted no time in planning the best approach. A few weeks ago i underwent a surgery that she performed brilliantly, and i am so incredibly happy with the result. Her breast care nurse and secretary are both kind, receptive, and it has been such a pleasure to be in the care of her team. I feel completely blessed to be under her care, and i would highly recommend her!

Went in for a consultation for a breast reduction, I asked how much it costs for the breast reduction and she told me she didn't know. All she said was it could be from $8,000 - $16,000. She also said she'd contact the other doctors to see if I could get it done at a private hospital, 3 months later never heard back from her again. What is the point of going for a consultation if the surgeon doesn't even know how much it'd cost? I felt like I've wasted $170 just to see her. That's my honest opinion, would not recommend.

Nicole was precise and to the point with her diagnosis and available options to rectify the situation. A consummate professional with a good sense of humour. She went above and beyond what was required. I would not hesitate you use her services again and would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Dr Yap is very professional, whilst also being very approachable and realistic. The three surgeries she has done for me have been successful (2 scar revisions and a carpal tunnel release ) and I would recommend her to anyone.

I was so lucky to have been referred to Dr Nicole Yap after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Nicole has always answered any of my concerns and given me assurance as she performed two surgeries and is currently seeing me through the process of a reconstruction. I couldn’t have been in better hands and with the added support of Debbie, her breast care nurse; I have felt confident and positive all the way through.

WOW!.. What a wonderful lady and surgeon Dr Nicole Yap is:).. I am so l am so lucky being given Dr Yap as a referral. I went and saw her with concerns and there was no mucking around. Nicole "says it how it is". She is also so approachable, sincere, a great sense of humor while also understanding the needs and concerns of her patients. She leaves no tables unturned. I am saying all this from my hospital bed where I have undergone a full breast Masectomy at the age of 38 after being diagnosed with DCIS. It is obvious that Nicole takes great passion and is so dedicated to her work. She works so hard and yet so enthusiastically with the compassion to her patients needs and concerns. Nicole is a "miracle surgeon" Debbie who works as Nicole's Breast nurse too is absolutely amazing. Explains EVERYTHING and always has time to talk no matter how long it takes. All that these ladies do is a Massive credit to them and such great advocates of breast cancer awareness.

After losing nearly 60 kilos I was feeling great apart from excess skin on my arms and abdomen. Dr Nicole Yap was recommended to me as an experienced plastic surgeon who would be willing to operate to remove the unwanted skin. I had no idea how involved the surgery was until after it was over, but after nearly six hours I was a new person. When I saw my new body for the first time I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Dr Yap did an amazing job removing excess skin from my arms and abdomen, giving me the chance to feel "normal" for the first time in a very long time. During my recovery Dr Yap was always available to me and on more than one occasion out of her usual consulting hours. I always found Dr Yap to be approachable and would gladly recommend her to anyone requiring a similar surgery.

Dr Nicole Yap has a warm and engaging professional personality which made my surgery experience so much easier. Her ability to explain things simply and go over them as many times as needed made me feel very comfortable with what was to take place. She is a real asset to the medical profession.

Her dedicated and professional manner allowed me to understand my situation and the journey that lied ahead. She conducted two surgeries on my left breast, with the utmost care and precision to remove all the cancer and maintain a well contoured breast. She did an exceptional job with the surgery and was very caring and attentive with all stages of the operation. She is a perfectionist and expects perfection from all of the medical teams involve, from pre-operative tests to post-operative treatments. I was very impressed with the in depth discussions regarding the cancer and the procedures, allowing me to prepare for all stages. Dr Nicole Yap is one of the most amazing women I've ever met. Her care & attention is exceptional & I felt that I was in very safe hands through my whole surgery experience following my Breast Cancer Diagnosis. I feel very lucky to have been referred to her.

I first met Dr. Nicole in late March. She diagnosed a lump in my breast. She explained everything to me very thoroughly the procedure and my options beforehand. On my third consultation she informed me that I would have to have surgery and it was all organised very efficiently. Before the surgery I met her and she took me through the procedure once again and didn't rush in giving all the information. Once the surgery was over she came to visit during the late evening to make sure that all was good and to see how I was feeling.
The whole surgery went very well and I am very happy with the outcome. She also went all the way to find me an oncologist in Perth where I will do my further treatment.
Her secretary Jasmine has been wonderful as well and nothing was too much for them to do. Any thing that I required was done very promptly.
Not only did she just go ahead and do everything, she did her research and went way beyond my expectations and gave me the right options and advice.

Very professional but relaxed. Procedure went well and information beforehand was exactly as it was. Support staff excellent and very organised - a smooth process. Very pleased.

I first went to see Dr Nicole in Dec 2012 to diagnose a lump in my neck. During the first consultation, she explained the medical terms and procedures in a clear manner. After my second consultation, she scheduled me for a thyroid surgery within the next two weeks which really helped because the lump in my throat is 3cm wide. Before the surgery, she checked to see if I'm okay and after the surgery (which was around 9pm) she did the same thing which was really comforting.

After the surgery, I had to fly back overseas and Dr Nicole checked my wound before I left and gave me some advise on how to keep the scar minimal. I think she's done a really fantastic and professional job because everyone commented on how neat and small the scar on my neck is.

Going through cancer is a terrible ordeal, however when you have a surgeon who is as caring, compassionate and understanding as Dr Yap it makes things just that much better. All doctors should have her bedside manner and sense of humour. Lyn was also a delight to deal with.

I had a pleasant experience, it was nice to be treated with respect & the procedure explained in language that I was able to understand.

I heard about Dr Yap through my GP and this website and the overwhelmingly positive responses are what encouraged me to have my bilateral breast reduction performed by her at the age of 20 in 2013.
Dr Yap showed a great deal of care and compassion and explained thoroughly the procedure/risks etc. As I was funding myself, I had my surgery booked just 11 days after my first appointment.
On the day of my surgery, I was the last on a long list of patients, so understandably there were a few hours extra of waiting. I went in at 9:30pm and the procedure was finished by around 1:45am (Dr Yap also removed a dermal anchor piercing from my right cheek).
My breasts are perfectly even and match my proportions perfectly (I went from a 12GG to a 12C = 1.2kg). Any anxiety I had about the procedure beforehand was completely assuaged by Dr Yap's professional and personable demeanour, not to mention the finished product!
The surgery itself cost around $6400, but I was able to get around $1300 back through Medicare. The anaesthetist was $1500. The hospital fees for St Vincent's East Melbourne were $5500 or so for 3 nights, but as I only stayed 2 I had $980 returned. In total after refunds the surgery cost around $11,120. Worth every cent! I cannot recommend Dr Yap highly enough.

In 2011 I had a bilateral breast reduction performed by Dr Yap. As i was only 20 years old at the time I was in two minds about having the surgery. Dr Yap explained the pro's and con's of surgery to me but above all I immediately felt so comfortable and knew I wanted her to perform the surgery. The surgery ended up taking around 4 hours and she explained to me after that it took so long because she felt my breasts weren't as even as the could be and fixed them up. After the surgery Dr Yap visited each day which, in combination with the amazing nursing staff at the Valley Hospital, meant my recovery was made as easy as possible. Post surgery I had regular appointments with Dr Yap and the only complication was a minor infection. It has now been almost 2 years since the surgery and there is almost no scarring visible. I cannot recommend Dr Nicole Yap enough, not only are her surgical skills impeccable (many GP's have commented on how impressive the breast reduction looks) her genuine caring nature truly made this the best decision I have made in my life.

I had a left breast reduction & removal of cancer from the right breast. Dr Nicole Yap spent a lot of time explaning everything from different options i could choose from, the pro`s and con`s from each option, pre surgery and after. She explained about the scaring and about the slight discomfort i would feel after surgery. She did a great job, I was amazed with the result. 7 months after surgery my scaring is not as visable as i thought they would be.
