I thought the aftercare was very poor. forceps have given me permanent injuries, my leviator ani muscle has been torn from the bone causing prolapse. As an older mother I was not warned about the risks of a vaginal delivery which I would have liked. To anyone having a child, do your research and do not consent to forceps. I felt like I wasn’t cared for as a human being and just a number.

Rachel gives you the options, pros and cons. You make up your own mind what you want and decisions aren't judged.
Rachel delivered 2 of my 3 babies and I thought she was fantastic. She's always calm and I always felt I was really well cared for. The staff in her rooms are lovely. If I contemplated #4 I'd definitely choose Dr Ryan - but that won't happen

Dr Ryan delivered my 2nd baby as my OB was away. She was professional, kind, caring and I felt very well looked after. She was in control of her team in the delivery suite and gave me 100% of her attention on the day. My OB was more experienced than Dr Ryan but I had a great experience with her.

Rachel delivered my 2nd baby, so I have what to compare her to... and she wins by far.
Attentive and caring, and at the same time honest and down to earth.
She did whatever possible to accomodate me and my special requests and needs, which were not always simple. She and her staff went out of their way to make sure I was happy and comfortable with the way things were being done, not making me feel bad for the hassle at all!
Even during the birth, I lost it a bit, and was yelling at her, telling her that I didnt want her to do this/that and she kept her calm all the whilst, and did as I had requested!
A real pleasure to have as your doctor.

Approximate cost: $3000

Dr Rachel Ryan was my obstetrician for my first (and only) baby. Rachel was courteous, professional and attentive throughout my pregnancy. She answered questions clearly and honestly and I always felt at ease with my pregnancy in her hands. She is not that "up to date" with the actual born baby though, which she freely admitted.

The clinic which she consults from is also very good. The admin and midwife were very good and the rooms comfortable. If Rachel is not available for your delivery (as happened to me) the other (also female) obstetricians are familiar with your case and I felt completely at ease with the other doctor performing the delivery. You are free to call the midwife (or the obs) at any time if you have any concerns during pregnancy.
As with most doctors there were times that Rachel was particularly late. It may be due to the fact that she never rushed you and made sure you were happy with how things were before you left.

The big bonus is that Rachel bulk bills the ongoing visits with no out of pocket. There is also an initial and 20 week payment which were well within the ball park of what others are charging.
