Went here a long time ago, really enjoyed the food. Service was a little slow and price for the portions could have been improved.

The staff are really friendly and often explain to me what is in each dish which is helpful with picky kids.

Our family of three went there for a yum cha. The ambience was good and service was good. However, the food was extremely salty. We were grabbing for water during the meal - we didn't realise that.Half an hour leaving the restaurant, we were emptying our water bottles in our car. It's very obvious there is a lot of MSG in the food. Cost wise, it's pretty expensive. Even with 25% discount, it still cost us $60 for 2 adults and one 8 yrs old boy. We agreed never to return there due to the high amount of MSG in the food.

Massive servings so well worth the money, great service & great atmosphere. We eat here regularly but last night was for a birthday and they really do treat the birthday boy special. Free desert and a birthday song. Loved it. Will be going back for sure!

YUM! Dragon Boat Yum Cha Express is amazing! This is the smaller restaurant located next to the main one. You can order yum cha items straight off the menu so they come out hot and fresh. Prawn dumplings are delishious and they serve the best curry laksa I've ever had! The prices are reasonable and if you are lucky enough to be served by the gentleman 'johnny' you will be in for a laugh.

Really handy chinese restaurants for those of us in the outer eastern suburbs and being part of Knox O-zone makes it handy before a movie or after shopping or just a family get together.
I've read through some of the reviews and I think the yum-cha hasn't been mentioned enough. Although it's not my favourite chinese restaurant in general, I do really enjoy their yum cha, especially those delicious little egg custard tarts.

Dined here on many occassions and never had a bad experience. Same owners and staff for many years who are both polite and efficient. The spicy squid is fantastic (most meals are). Can be a little noisy on Thurs/Fr/Sat nights. Can be expensive...

My family came here after seeing it in the entertainment book. It's a nice and rather large restaurant situated at the back of the outer food precinct of Knox shopping centre. My son was specifically fascinated by the large chandeliers.
They service staff push small carts of food around in which you take one or leave. You can order off a menu as well. The food itself was of a reasonable quality but nothing stand out.

We went here for dinner at about 7:30pm on a Saturday and just managed to score a table for two in the huge and packed restaurant. The turnaround for tables seemed to be fast as was the service.

Free wanton paper crackers on each table which is nice and a change from the old prawn cracker trick. Would have preferred prawn crackers though to be honest.

We ordered and shared a heap of entrees, and subsequently over-ordered which is easy to do when you see the price of the entrees.

White Bait was amazing and the best I have had anywhere. My partner had the duck for his main and loved it. This was 8 pancakes that the chef makes up for you next to your table, which I thought was a nice touch.

The main sprecial fried rice is huge and probably too much for just 2 people, so we know next time the servings are actually quite decent.

Highlight of the night by far was the Banana fritter I ordered. As far as a fried banana goes, this was perfect. There is something special that happens when you deep fry a banana and drizzle it with golden syrup and giant scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect end to the meal, which I definitely ate too much of...

Oh well, you only live once. :)

One of the best Chinese restaurants that I've been to. I've eaten in and had take away and the service has been great each time. The manager is very nice and efficient. The food has always been delicious, can always recommend the chicken and sweetcorn soup, fried rice and Cantonese beef - yummo!

Have been to this restaurant many times, but have never dined in, it's all been takeaway. You are always quickly greeted and the orders are processed quickly. The soups are great, the rice is great, i quite like the various dumplings and dim sims, and as with many similar restaurants you'll get a free bag of prawn crackers if your order is around $30 in my experience. The only issue we've ever had from going there was one time the lid on my wonton soup wasn't fitted 100% properly and on the way home it spilled out, through the protective glad wrap around the contained, then permeated through the plastic bag and burnt my legs as i was passenger-ing on the way home. This is no reason to not go there though, i was stupid for holding it on my lap anyway. We use a cardboard box now. The restaurant itself is very large with huge ceilings and is packed on the weekends. Highly recommended, they make great food.

Dragon boat delivers good Chinese cuisines and offers a good selection of YumCha for lunch. The restaurant has a cleaner feel to it than your typical Chinese YumCha place and hence the slightly higher price. Service is always good and good tasty. Love their egg tarts!

Food is great & very tasty. We had the King Prawns & the fillet beef, it was faultless. Prices are also reasonable & they have a great wine list with a variety of wines from different regions.
Service is ok nothing special. I would go back without hesitation.

This has always been a great place to eat, top quality food and good service. They now have a separate vegetarian menu which was quite extensive. The San choi bou is fabulous. They are also in the Entertainment Book if you want to save some money.

Went there for Yum Cha once. The ambience and service are excellent, while food is average. Having said that, the price is very expensive. Even with the 25% discount from Entertainment book, it's still far more expensive than a typical Yum Cha restaurant. Don't think I will ever return unless there is 50% discount.

We love the food and often order takeaway from here. It can get a bit squishy because it's so popular, so we prefer to eat at home. They also take special requests (my dad orders sweet and sour beef in batter, which isn't on the menu) which is kind of them.

I've been to the Dragon Boat many times for the past 20 years. The food is always exemplary and the service of a high standard. It's a high quality establishment that has been around for a long time. Consistency and high quality are they're strength.

I would not rate this restaurant any better than average as far as food and service go and the prices are quite expensive considering there are alot of other local restaurants who do better food at cheaper prices. It is convenient to the cinema's though and service is adequate.

We ordered a buffet and loved it! Great food came out one after the other. Very enjoyable.
Though I didn't like being seated next to the depressed fish in the tank. Service was lovely.

It is an alright restaurant, however quite cold in there because it is a large restaurant. The food was alright, however not the best quality I have tasted.

My family always enjoy dining here and we celebrate all birthday yum chas here. The service is really good, very surprising considering it's a Chinese restaurant. The yum cha has a wide selection and the food is always hot. As it's attached to a mall, parking is always available.

Approximate cost: $20 per person

We went here for a friend's birthday dinner. Most of us had one of the banquets, and the food was just amazing. Everything was fresh, and presented beautifully, and some of it was prepared at our table. For the most part the service was great, though we did have one waitress who had a lot of trouble with our drink orders - both understanding the order, and the way the drinks were brought out, but the food waiters were great. There was plenty of food, and the serves were just right - you didn't feel completely stuffed half way through, but you were certainly full by the end. We finished the night with all the staff singing happy birthday, and a fried icecream cake brought out with a rather large scimitar for decoration. They also took a photo of the birthday girl, for her to take home.
It was a great night out, and the best asian food I can remember having in a long time.

Approximate cost: $25-65
