I, like most pet keepers, love my pet. I myself am actually allergic to cat, but I had a cat when I was little, we kept him for 11 years. Oscar is my first pet cat in Australia. He is a two-year-old Ragdoll, very active and playful. My wife and I love him very much. This review is our experience.
Oscar, recently spent two weeks in Durack Pet Motel when we spent our holiday in NZ. We had two weeks of food prepared for Oscar. He has been in other pet motels before, and also travelled with other agencies when we moved from Sydney to Brisbane. But he was never this miserable.
I want to start by saying I do not really know what Oscar has been through in Durack during his stay. I personally did not visit the cattery but we saw the reviews on the internet are all very positive. But when we picked Oscar up two days ago he was not in a good condition at all.
He lost nearly two kilos (he was 5.5kg), and he was not active at all. His left eye was basically swollen shut when we got him, and liquid flows out of the eye every now and then. He did not eat nor drink during his first day back at home. He lies down all the time, stopped playing and doing stuff, and his urine is a very weird green color. Yes, it is green.
He came back as a completely different cat. I took him to the vet today and we need to do some test before we can jump into conclusions.
My cat Oscar was very healthy before we send him to Durack. I could not say he was not nervous given he was mostly kept indoors. But he was friendly and in a excellent condition.
I called Durack this morning, and I was told they never noticed anything wrong with him during his stay. The girl was considerate over the phone, but that does not make up for the fact that my cat is in a really really poor health condition.

I hope Oscar make it through this ASAP. Again this is only personal experience with Durack. I do not think I will board my cat here ever again.

When my dog was a pup I asked around for recommendations for a kennel. Three very different friends with very different dogs, and who didn't know each other, all recommended Durack Pet Motel, and they were all spot on.
He is so excited when we drive up, can't wait to get in the gate and join the other dogs, and comes home freshly washed and very happy.
Paul and the team are so friendly and genuinely enjoy the animals in their care-the staff seem to stay a long time and get to know the individual animals.

I have been a client of the Durack Pet Motel over 15 years during which time they have looked after my 2 dogs (one for 8 years and the next for 5 years) for periods totalling about 1 month each year. My dogs have always been well looked after and come home in good condition. The staff are always very pleasant to deal with and the dogs have always reacted well to them so you know they enjoy their kennel experience and you can holiday without worrying about them!

our dog has been holidaying here ( when we go away) for 6 years. He loves going because he knows he is going to be loved there as much as he is at home but he does love coming home as well. He gets a hair cut ( on request) and a bath before he comes home. If he is staying for a little while they are very happy to accommodate any special items to make our dog feel happier ( e.g.: bedding, toys etc.). The owners/carers have a genuine love of all the animals ( picture board in office) and we feel very reassured putting our dog in their care. Thank you to Paul and the team :0)

The owners and staff make the whole experience for pet and owner an enjoyable one. We have been ( our pets ) have been associated with Durack Pet Motel for a few years now and nothing seems too much trouble...they go to all ends to make you feel happy in knowing your pets have the BEST care. We have no problem whatsoever in promoting and endorsing this business. We travel across Brisbane to a place we know has the "pet" as their prime focus...the rating above is true and a very accurate indication of our personal experience...thank you Paul and Staff

Have been using this Pet Motel for many different pet services over the past several years. Everytime I go there the staff are fantastic, the premises are immaculate and the animals are always happy. Highly recommend.

I have been leaving my dogs at Durack Pet Motel now for the past 10 years and can't praise them enough. My dogs came from the RSPCA, both were unsettled, one because of physical abuse and lacked trust in humans. Both were welcomed, they settled in and my ‘problem child' now loves going Durack Pet Motel and adores the staff. They always make Max welcome and it's his ‘home away from home'. The staff are always co-operative and very helpful and,as well as using the kennel service, we avail ourselves of the hydrobath. You know there is no fear of contracting any diseases from dirty baths or reused water here. The bath is always spic and span, as are the kennels, and the service is always caring. Thank you, Paul and the girls.

After an decade of great service staff, had the misfortune to meet the owners. Terse, angry and impolite. Time they got out I imagine. I now feel sorry for the staff.

I have been a customer for about 10years and find that they almost always accept my small dog, even at short notice. She seems happy to be left there and any grooming has been done to my satisfaction when I return for her.
