My girlfriend took me there for lunch, the first time I went. The decor was ecclectic, the food was delicious, and definitely not run of the mill. The service was awesome! Iv been back since, and the service there was excellent.
Small but varied menu, lots of original flavours and excellent quality produce used. The decor is unique and the staff always friendly.

I LOVE this cafe. The retro decor is well put together without being over the top or trying too hard. The staff are friendly and are able to discuss / explain all the menu options to you. They are also happy to make adjustments for dietary requirements or make suggestions. The food is always fresh and interesting. There are often changes to the menu, but their signature dishes, such as the home made pork dumplings (10/10) never disappear. The coffee is good although occasionally inconsistent, and the cakes and desserts are amazing. A great atmosphere and the dinner menu is one of the best in Ballarat, with a wine list and knowledgable staff to match. Would highly recommend this to others and get there whenever I can. I sometimes take my work in and sit near the window for the afternoon and drink tea and eat lunch. I have never felt pressured to give up the table, even when they are busy. Interesting location near the old cemetery and the lake. Only disappointing thing is their long closure time over Christmas, but understandably the staff need a rest! It pays to book if you are going for lunch mid-week as they can get extremely busy.
Went here with a large group and had a lovely time, the retro decor made for a lot of great conversation and the menu's were old cook books, lots of fun. We also had a really nice meal, the food is a little different to most in ballarat, although worth a try. The only downside is that it's a little expensive for what you get. Will go back sometime!
This little eatery is a great little treasure filled with vintage\retro decor. The service was outstanding and super friendly. The food was amazing, we had entrees and mains and everything we ordered was shared between the three of us. The only downfall I would say this place had was that is was very pricey for what you got. For example, we ordered an entree of cheese croquettes (four little bite size morsels) and they cost $15.00. The main was around $30 which was a high end meal. My Husband and I spend a total of $92.00 that night for a shared entree and two mains. (we also had a drink each). Its not something we would frequent because of the cost, but for an occasional treat, I would highly recommend.

This place has SO much character! If you want to go somewhere DIFFERENT, this is the place. The lemon curd muffin just melts in your mouth and is my favourite. There is an interesting surprise lurking around every corner so check it out!
Great food, tasty and not too badly priced. A small range but all good to choose from. An intriguing menu that has something different from the standard.
