I have been coming to Eltham Swimming School since my now 4.5 year old was 6 months of age. He has developed a confidence in the water, and a foundation to improve on due to the care and structure of his lessons. This kids in his class and the other classes I watch while being there look like they are having fun whilst also learning and getting better. I especially like the small group sizes and the fact it is a private centre with no public swimming distracting the kids.

I have been taking our 2.5 year old son, Hamish,for 2 years now. He is now swimming independently and loves his swimming. We would highly recommend Eltham Swimming School, and have lots of friends who take their children there. Love it!

My 3.5 year old child who had NEVER done swimming classes before was put into a class with 3 other very confident and able swimmers. This was the first problem. He was then left alone to hold onto a rail with his back against the water, in a pool where he could not stand, while the teacher swam off with the other children in the class. She wasnt watching him, and she was too far away to have been able to get to him quick enough if he got into trouble. She was not even aware that he was crying and shaking in fear as he was left there to wait. The teacher and the staff that put him into that class knew he had never done swimming before. I truly believe he should not have been put into that class, and absolutely never have been left alone when he has no skills or confidence in the water! Angry with the whole experience. I would never recommend Eltham swimming school and I hope that who ever is reading this will seriously consider going elsewhere. Before this experience he loved the water (when swimming with us at pools/beach) He is now scared, has lost trust and doesnt want to go swimming. My plan now is to teach him myself and help build his confidence back up. Later down the track I may look into private lessons where I will make sure he gets treated with the respect he deserves as he learns to swim.

I have had both my boys swimming at eltham swim school. Sonja and Elizabeth are excellent. I highly recommend this school. Kids swim from 2 years by themselves which makes a huge difference in my opinion.

Really good experience with the baby classes - started there when my bub was 6 months with Elizabeth and she is a great teacher, and is really focused on the kids.
The water is always really warm, and on the whole seems clean. If there are a lot of classes on, the changing rooms get full quickly, and they could do with an update but are more than adequate for a quick change.

we quite like this swim school. there is enough parking. it is well organised. it has been made very easy for me with three kids. Hannah and Elizabeth are really fantastic. very friendly and great with my kids.

Our daughter has attended this swimming school since she was a baby. Baby classes are good though better education for the parents would make it even better. Toddler classes are very good, though a bit busy on a Saturday, not quite enough room for everyone. Classes could be made a bit more fun for kids but still of a good quality. Small class size- no more than 4 in a class which is great. Good teachers.

A structured 10 level program catering for young children from beginners through to the swimming the formal strokes. The program also includes the vital lifesaving skills your child needs - treading water, survival strokes, safe entries & clothed swimming. This is a dedicated swimming school and the class sizes are small, usuay no more that 4 kids a class and if you want to go at 6:00pm on a week night, you can often get a private lesson.
