Some people baulk at the initial price but if you go out a lot and like to save money like me it is worth its weight in gold I now use the app and it's a trillion times better than using the book cos you don't have to carry a bloody book around everywhere it's in my phone and you can use near me function that looks up where u r and tells u what is nearby u. The book don't do that
Have redeemed quite a bit of value through the entertainment book! definetely worth buying! loved it
Unsure of their system and still coming to grips with it all. It is unfamiliar and different. Willing to persist and give it a try.
My family bought an Entertainment book for the first time last year and it has been incredible value. We've mainly used the cafe and family activity sections and have redeemed well over $500 worth of value. We bought the digital version of the book which appears as an app in both my partner's and my phone and we redeem on the spot. The app is really easy to use and has never had a problem. We'll definitely be purchasing this years version in July. Amazing value especially for families.
Approximate cost: $60 for the book for a year
Love the value indeed!
I buy an entertainment book every year, that's how good they are. I love the fact that they raise money for charities and also make it a lot easier to go out for dinner with a family as we know how expensive this can be. You pretty much get back what you paid for the book within the first 2-3 times you go out for tea.
There is just an amazing variety of places and thing to do in that book.
I highly recommend these to my family and friends all the time.
Approximate cost: $65.00
Still struggling to find these books, wouldn't mind getting one, Can someone tell me where to get one.
My mum sells these books. Send me a message if you want to get one.
love their value indeed!
The Entertainment book is such a great idea. Firstly I love that you can sell them to make money for your organisation so a good fundraiser. It's pretty easy to make up what you spent on the book as there are many offers inside. I love eating in the city so for me it is great. There are many higher end restaurants included, although with plenty of mid and lower end priced places. If you love trying new places and getting a discount then the Entertainment book is a good investment.
The coupons can be awesome and save you a lot of money. In saying that it can also cost you a lot of money because people will go somewhere they usually wouldn't just because they have a coupon for it. If used wisely it can be great. Just be carefully is all I'm saying.
Approximate cost: $65 book
true in a way
I wasnt too keen on the Entertainment Book. Most deals were cbd based not really good for where we live. We were told it was great but it wasnt, unless your going interstate or overseas or you live in the cbd, wouldnt purchase it again
was great indeed
I have been purchasing this book for several years and find it of great value.
You only need to go out to dinner 4 times a year to get your value for money.
I find it also encourages us to try new places and businesses.
Approximate cost: $70
love the value of it too
Have been buying the Entertainment Book ever since my kids were at school. There are absolutely hundreds of places to eat and visit etc. We now have our regular eating places mainly because of this book. We always use the "buy one get one free" offer. There are free or cheap movie tickets, half price goods and cheap accommodation. The only draw back is we never get to use all the Vouchers as there are so many. Great idea for new people in the area that the book covers. Definitely worth the money, plus a lot of places sell them to raise funds etc.
Approximate cost: $65
Yes, I have been buying the Entertainment book for a few years now and I find it to be good. I am the Rep for my local primary school.
I have been using the Entertainment Books for several years and love them.
You really only need to use a Book three or four times in a year, and you've made your money back. From then on, every time you use it you are ahead.
Whenever I go on holiday I get a book for the appropriate location. They are better than hotel room restaurant guides if you need help finding somewhere to dine out.
They make great gifts for people you stay with or visit. Not so much for Christmas, because by then the book has had more than half its life, but even then they are an incentive to get out and try new things, and new places to eat at a reduced rate.
This week I had trouble with their website and was quite annoyed when my email to their Customer Service department seemed to be ignored. But patience won out and I received a call from a very brave young lady who was willing to take on a potentially irate customer, and help me with my difficulty.
So, my thanks and congratulations to Entertainment Book in Hawthorn for another job well done!
Incidentally, in the end, the problem seemed to be due to my computer more than to theirs.
So give them a try, the books really are excellent!
I get great value out of the discounts made with the Entertainment Book.
Love to try new places and it is a great incentive to go out and give locals a go.
Don't mind if I don't use up heaps of vouchers as I am very happy to support my chosen charity.
Win Win business at it's best.
i love the discounts too!
I purchase the Entertainment Book annually to support my local non profit organisation. We don't go out very much but when you have vouchers of either buy 1 get 1 free, or 25% off your total bill, it's worth the effort to try new eateries. By the end of the 12 months the coupons used is usually about 20%, which doesn't really matter because it has paid for itself.
The only thing that I will not buy again is those Coles/Kmart gift vouchers. Although you do save 5% on the giftcards, they tend to arrive around the 6 week mark. Luckily the customer service officers are very prompt to reply to any issues regarding these gift cards (yes there were quite a few issues) and they were quick to respond to the situation. So I commend them on their great customer service, but I will not buy the gift cards again, maybe I am the only one who has bad luck with the gift cards?
Either than that there are also accommodation discounts and other various shopping discounts that I do not use. The website is a great tool to search for accommodation as well. And they also have an app for your smart phone to search for deals.
Overall thumbs up!
Approximate cost: $65
I originally bought a book just to support daycare however I love it. We save a lot of money and it encourages us to try new places. We don't go out a lot, you only need to a few times to make the purchase worthwhile. The Coles and Woolworths vouchers are great.
A lot of places sell them as a fundraiser.
Learning more as I read reviews; interesting that they are also sold for charity. Thanks!
it encourages me to try to new places too haha!
I've used Entertain Books for a few years now and I've always managed to get through about a quarter of the coupons. The great thing about this compared to online sites like groupon is that you don't need to book in advance for a lot of the restaurants and activities. There's something for everyone ranging from zoo discounts for the kids to fine dining for the adults. Definitely recommend this.
Entertainment books are amazing and a must for people who are keen to save money but also don't want to give up having a social life and fun.
I had never even heard of them until 3 years ago when my husband came home with one he had bought at work as part of a fund raiser, and to be honest I thought it was just a waste of money.
Fact is, I was entirely wrong. At the end of the 12 months we had it, there were still heaps of vouchers left, but with the money we saved, on things we would have bought anyway, I didn't for a moment feel we had wasted our money or been ripped off.
Better still - they are transferable, so if there are vouchers you won't use because it isn't your thing or whatever, you just remove them from the book and give them to someone who will use them.
Once I realised how great they are, and started talking to other people about them, I learnt I was way behind and everyone really already knew about them. Lots of my friends have been buying them as birthday gifts for their family every year, and were very popular for it!
I totally recommend checking them out! It will definitely save you money, you won't be disappointed.
Approximate cost: $65
Entertainment Books are absolutely amazing ! It helps you save so much money and its a great way to get you out of the house to use all of the great coupons in the book.
The amount of vouchers in the book is by the hundreds.
You could half the price of a family day out using this great book.
I would recommend this book to everyone :)
this is my 3rd entertainment book and i will continue to purchase them, not only do they go support a great cause but the value for money is fantastic. Pays itself off i a couple of uses and something for the whole family.
Approximate cost: $65.00
If you live in a capital city and like going out, this book is a must! Great savings on restaurants, shopping and going out for fun like bowling with the kids. This book can help you save money and helps a good cause.
I didn't understand what The Entertainment Book was until I had one. We used to avoid buying them because we thought it had no value. Boy, were we wrong. Within the first week of buying it we received emails offering to save us money at restaurants and on travel - on top of what was already in the book.
It pays for itself almost immediately (especially if you book a hotel or if you use it for Coles, JB HiFi etc,) and it seems to grow in value every week. Plus, it raises money for the school which is never a bad thing.
Everyone should get one!
Approximate cost: $55
I have considered buying an Entertainment Book for the past few years now so finally did it this year! There is a lot of variety with some great deals, however I am still a little disappointed with it. The limits on some of the vouchers seem too low, and don't really make it worthwhile. I think I'm going to struggle to get back the $65 that I paid for it... Hopefully I'm proven wrong but unfortunately I can't see that happening at this stage. The best thing to come from it so far would be supporting the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Approximate cost: $65.00
I've bought the Entertainment Book for many years. Last year, with the influx of so many deals companies, I didn't buy one but still missed out. This year, the deals companies have become less appealing so I bought the Entertainment Book again. Glad I did. I've already recouped my investment, not to mention supporting the Queensland Cancer Council at Bowen Hills.
What I'd love though is if they'd come up with a digital version so we don't have to carry around a ragged book after using many of the coupons. Food for thought for the future :).
Approximate cost: $65
got a book again this year cost $55 GOLD COAST have had 2 months and already got my money back from the savings. have recommend to a few friends and they have seen so much value in it too. WHY NOT
bonus the place you buy from gets a commission for selling ours goes to our school, good for the kids
Approximate cost: $55
It's wonderful!
Why wouldn't you purchase an entertainment book. I got my money back after using one dry cleaning voucher and eating out once! (I had a lot of dry cleaning) A great range of restaurants - from fine dining to Maccas - and really worthwhile discounts, especially for foodies like us! It encourages us to try new restaurants, as you can only get discount at each restaurant once, but if the restaurant is really good we go back there regardless of not getting further discount. And you help out your favourite charity or school/sporting group.
Approximate cost: $65
Sounds like a great shop - thanks for sharing your experience.
If you don't have an Entertainment book, go and get one.
Even if I barely go out for months, I always get way more out of having a book than the $65 cost of buying one.
There are vouchers for restaurants, movies, dry-cleaning, snacks, zoo's - just about everything in your local area.
Highly recommend.
Approximate cost: $65
I love it too! worth it
I have been using the Canberra Entertainment Book as a fundraising product for the past couple of years for local educational organisations - and it is great value for the fundraising organisation as well as the buyers. When the book is released, you get to attend a launch party (where you receive a free book for your own use) with many prizes to be won. Prizes are also available for selling a certain number of books in any given month. $11 from each book goes back to the fundraising organisation - and it is an easy sell as the book is so great.
More personally, I am loving the 5% off my groceries and fuel by pre-purchasing Coles and Wish gift cards on the Entertainment Book website - and they have great accommodation offers too, which are even cheaper than other cheap accomodation sites on the web. So easy to get your money's worth.
Approximate cost: $55
For $65 dollars you get a book full of vouchers to use for the following: fine dining, casual eating-in or even some take-away. Includes some entertainment type activities and even discount on accomodation. Alot of charity type organisations stock them and it helps raise funds -
It is definitely worth the $65, especially if you eat out regularly. Has such a great range of restaurants. Also has great other vouchers including for AFL games.
Approximate cost: $65
AMAZING VALUE!!! for $65 per book, you have so many options for fine, casual, take away dining to suit most people, the activities eg zoo entry for half price is brilliant day trip too. staying at hotels for half the cost via online bookings on their website is excellent
i have been buying an entertainment book each year for many years and am one happy customer!!
Approximate cost: $65
Great value, it gets better each year and even if you don't use it very often it's still worth buying one. The savings on some items are unbelievable
So very true!
