Dr Shellabear turned my situation around from needing full abdominal surgery to very successful key hole surgery. You’re in very good hands with Dr Shellabear.

Dr is very nice but the receptionist is horribly rude and misleading . Why she would’ve asked me to provide private medical insurance details and then after visit she said they can not use it !!! I called my insurance company and they cover , after I called back Dr Shellabear reception but no explanation and the reseptionalist was so rude and abruptive ! Dr is very pleasant though but the woman on reception must be changed really ..I don’t like the fact I was mislead by receptionist.

Came seeking help regarding a painful and ongoing gynae issue that the GPS had no clue about.

Specifically requested this Dr as my mother had seen her for her issues too. As no other options were available (hormones were a no go) I asked for a long term contraception solution other than what I had AND a laparoscopy to ensure no other issues were noted. Basically had a script for mirenia (which I had already communicated was not an option due to family experiences) thrown at me and kicked out. Horrid ordeal. I was sure there was something not quite right and she still declined anything other than a bandaid solution as I was apprently 'too young'.

$175 for a consult and no actual help!

Ten months later I have had laparoscopic surgery with someone else and they found extensive grade three endometriosis and a polycystic ovary which was haemorrhaging into my abdomen once a month causing pain, fainting, excessive bleeding and other issues! The severity could have been minimised if she had done the surgery when I asked!

Laparoscopic surgery has not worked long term so I am now considering a hysterectomy which I also asked her for in the first appointment. Safe to say I will NOT be returning to this practice.

No compassion, no care and very very poor standard of care. AVOID!

I attended Dr Shellabear's rooms and she was amazing. Her receptionist was shockingly rude and impossible to get in contact with. She wouldn't attend her phone calls when I was trying to get my results and was extremely rude and unprofessional when I attended the clinic. When you are waiting for urgent results and are advised to call on a certain day, I don't think it is too much to ask for for the receptionist to answer the phone.

I would not recommend going to this practice at all!!! I have been waiting over two weeks just to get results from a blood test, when you are trying to conceive the last thing you need is the extra stress of a doctor not getting back to you with test results. I have called reception who is not very nice at all and all they say is she Will get around to it when she can pfft whatever I paid $200 to go there and having to wait this long for blood test results is appalling

Erica is absolutely fantastic and I would highly recommend her. She is very understanding.

Dr Shellabear is very [redacted due to breach of AHPRA guidelines] and exactly what I was looking for. Trying to get through on the phone to speak to the receptionist to book in is a challenge in itself.

Been there 3 times now,very undertanding, listens to concerns and explains everthing clearly at consultations and follow ups.
Procedures go exactly as explained.Would never go anywhere else!

I went to Dr Shellabear as I was having trouble conceiving. She was very kind and understanding (and sent me for appropriate tests etc.) Luckily there were no medical issue and we conceived within 2 months of seeing her (once we stopped worrying as everyone says!) If you prefer a female Obs/gyno she is really lovely.
