As a local for over 30 years I rarely visit the markets these days but having visitors decided to brave the Christmas crowds and parking chaos. At one time stalls were limited to locals selling their own produce or goods but now it seems anyone and everyone can purchase stall rights. I spoke with two who travel from Brisbane twice a week to sell goods every Saturday and Wednesday. No stallholders can sell everything from cheap Bali market clothing to mass produced photo prints. However the crowds ere incredible, sales were flourishing and talking to visitors from around the world they were extremely impressed with the stalls, music, international food and whole atmosphere. Perhaps I will stay away at peak holiday times and visit again when I can get a car parking space within walking distance.

I never thought I would see myself going to Markets, I'm a shop person through and through, going to a markets for me would be like choosing camping over a resort. Now things have certainly changed, How wrong I was. Markets are indeed fantastic at least Eumundi Markets is. I didn't expect something so huge with so much variety. Food Stalls, craft stalls and one thing I really found good was there are so many unique things that can't be bought elsewhere. It takes a long time to see everything, but boy o boy it was worth it. Loved it.....

I always love visiting the Eumundi Markets as I am always looking for something different, something handmade, something special. The stall holders are so helpful and the variety of arts, crafts, fashion and food is endless. Also walking around Memorial drive you can pick up some treasures. Can't wait to visit again.

When you say handmade stuff, do you mean more for Women or do they have wood made stuff for men?

The Eumundi Markets are one of my favourite markets in Australia. The have a wide range of products available ... food ... including fresh fruit and vegies, baked goods, drinks, hot potatoes, german Sausages etc., clothes, arts, crafts and homemade gifts along with a myriad of entertainment. Sharon and I went here on a Wednesday during school holidays and it was still hard to get a park.

We spent a couple of very enjoyable hours meandering through the stalls and although we didn't buy a lot we saw plenty that kept us interested and thinking about what we might buy in the future. I bought a beautiful necklace for Sharon and she bought a number of friendship bracelets for her daughter. The entertainment can keep you enthralled for hours if you let it and there is plenty else to keep you amused. If you're ever on the Sunshine Coast then I would highly recommend that you make time to visit the markets. They are open Wednesdays and Saturdays every week.

This is a great place to while away a few hours wandering and brousing although it's become so popular that it can get a bit crowded. Delicious fresh produce, arts and crafts and plenty of food stalls to keep the kids happy, too.

As a local who even attended the very first market here in March 1979, I still love to visit almost every week and it's a must for my visitors. It is the best regional market in Australia and yes, I have been to all the famous ones, including Salamanca, Port Douglas and Darwin.Nowhere compares for food, clothing, jewellery, gifts, novelties, entertainment and friendly locals. It should be in every guide book and on every tourists bucket list.

This market blew me away, all the local talent displaying and selling their wares. Everyone is friendly and willing to let you sample their food and that we did. Highlight of the market was the artwork and local produce but you cannot go home without buying a bag of salt and sugar popcorn it is special.
