I purchased a bridesmaid's dress from the internet and when it arrived I needed to have it adjusted (hem taken up and the chiffon layer released from the side seams). I rang another dressmaker who got a good rating on WOMO and was dismayed to hear a phone quote on the hem alone of about $150 (more than the whole dress!). Helena was lovely on the phone and in person - understanding and good humoured - and not only completed the adjustment within 2 or 3 business days for half the phone quote of the other dressmaker, but was also honest about the alterations she thought didn't really need to be done (taking in the dress around the bust). I am extremely grateful to Helena for her expertise and service and will happily give her my business in the future.

I had a horrible experience with Raffael Chukka delivering my wedding dress 3 days before my wedding. The fit was questionable as to whether it was going to hold my bust in on the day! Doing a mad scramble ringing around dress alteration shops, I stumbled upon Helena, who kindly stayed open past the shop hours to offer her assistance, experience and exceptional customer service. This type of service and is missing from the wedding industry, and it was refreshing to see someone that has not lost the love for what she does. It was a stand out moment throughout the whole wedding planning process. What a wonderful experience to end with. (Besides the actual big day of course)

We found Ever Elegant on the internet while we were considering a dressmaker to make a formal tango style dress for Stephanie to wear at a Cabaret Night event in June of this year. Helena's work was outstanding. She listened to our ideas on required style, gave sound advice on materials, and then set to work to design a really remarkable dress. After our tango performance there were many compliments from audience members on the night. Helena gave very close attention to details during the fitting process, and the dress was finished well before the occasion and well on budget. We highly recommend her work.

Helena made my wedding dress and I couldn't have been happier with it! I showed her a picture and said "That's what I want but I want you to change this, this and this" And I got EXACTLY what I wanted!! Everyone raved about how fabulous the dress looked and the best thing was, it was comfortable and it fitted me perfectly!! I even had her make me matching dilly bags for myself, bridesmaids and flowergirls from the fabric of my dress.
Helena was wonderful to work with, easy going and very professional!! I would recommend her to anyone who's after some personalised, quality, good value service!!

I bought my wedding gown off the rack early this year. It was one size bigger than my real size so I took it to some dressmakers for a quote for alterations. Helena was one of them.

Helena was the most patient dressmaker I dealt with. She asked me to put on the gown to see which bits needed alteration (which to my surprise some other dressmakers did not even bother to do). She took time to explain what she was going to alter and why she would do it that way. Helena also made some professional suggestions to make my gown look better than just okay. Strangely enough her quote was one of the best! I did not need to think again after I visited her.

When I got it back, I was really happy with her workmanship. The gown went from looking like someone else's to one that fit me like a glove.

At the time I was also looking for someone to make a red dress for my Chinese reception. Having had one stuffed up by another dressmaker there was not much time left at all.

I approached Helena again. Helena agreed to make one on a very short notice. I showed her a picture of a dress I found online. It was a red satin dress covered with lace. The style is also a little uncommon with a Chinese twist in the collar. Helena gave me advice on fabric and styles etc. A few weeks later, a beautiful red dress was completed. The dress made me look slim and elegant. Like her work with my white gown, Helena took every step to make sure the perfect fitting. She also went great lengths by suggesting additions to details which I never thought of. These efforts meant more work for her but better outcome for me as a customer.

I wore both dresses at my wedding in Canada in May this year and received so many compliments from my family and guests. I cannot be happier with Helena's work.

I brought my wedding dress to Helena after reading reviews on WOMOW. Helena did such a wonderful job on the alterations. It was a strapless dress and fitted perfectly on the day! Helena is friendly and relaxed, and very experienced! Given the amount of work that needed to be done through all the boning and layers of the dress, the price was much better than I expected! Couldn't have been happier! Highly recommended!
