Pathetic. Stay away. No customer service

Not a bad thing to say about Fernwood except the old winging members who have trouble adapting to change. Constant complainers who need to get a life and stop bad mouthing the club to us members who actually enjoy and embrace the new changes. Staff are awesome and so friendly. If you don't like the club go somewhere else instead of winging and ruining our time we spend in the club that we love.

The atmosphere of this gym has changed recently because of new management. The new policies of loud, reverberating music that bounces off the walls are not what many women want. We could find a million gyms of this ilk. I came to Fernwood because they catered for women of all ages and the atmosphere used to reflect this. No longer. It is useless discussing this with the new manager as feedback about this issue is not tolerated and ignored. Find somewhere else as I am doing.

This a great women's gym, the staff are beyond wonderful and you couldn't ask for a more relaxed atmosphere. They have great facilities and a variety of classes. Creche is $4 per session if you have children. Would recommend to any women who is afraid of going to gyms as you will be very comfortable in this environment.

I have been going to Fernwood Carindale for 4 years and I really love it. I was surprised to read the other reviews saying it was too expensive and small. It's massive and has heaps of equipment. You really get what you pay for too, my basic membership includes a meeting with one of the trainers every six weeks to write me a new program and check my progress and they even give me free breakfast every morning before I go to work. All the girls are really nice, they all know my name and ask me how I'm going when they see me. I really reccommend it, especially if you want to avoid the big muscle men and barbie dolls who turn up to exercise in what look like a sports bra and undies. : )

This gym is pretty average. I found the membership to be far too expensive for what it's worth. They have limited machines and equipments (during the peak hours - it was very hard to get a machine). The gym is also very small as well, at times I found the gym class to be too over packed and the area for stretching is very small. It does however have a few nice perks though: child-minding facility, breakfast bar, lockers and under cover parking.

Approximate cost: $~$936/yr

I found this gym to be very expensive, it was a good gym but for the price I would have liked to see better equipment and more of it.

A fantastic gym with excellent fitness instructors. A friendly and warm environment. My only disappointment is that volunteers work in the creche and I would have felt more comfortable with professional childcare workers in there. However, they were friendly and they were mums so they had experience.

Approximate cost: $40/fn
