There has been a significant staff turn over, indicating issues with management, and some new room staff are not very experienced, or office staff who seem to be quite manipulative and indirect. None of the staff changeovers have been conveyed to parents, even when directly affected by this, which shows a lack of transparency and disregard for parents, who have a right to know who is looking after their children. Some of the staff who have stayed are not very attentive to their charges, and I feel the child/carer ratio is not always met to the minimum standard. We have not really had a good experience here.
Except for the preschool room, it seems to always be on top of things, with long-standing staff who listen well, and well-structured activities.

My 2 kids started to going to Fiona Childcare from beginning of this year we love the centre and Karen at Pre school room who is Early Childhood teacher carried school readiness programs and lot more activities that my children loved. I strongly recommend this centre to my friends. At first I heard a few bad rumours about this centre but it was not true and they had massive management upgraded at this point of time.

My two children attend this centre and have done for a year and a half. While I agree there was a rocky patch at the centre for a very short period, I myself have never witnessed any such behaviour from the staff and found that the management have acted swiftly in addressing concerns and issues and the service is all the better for it. I have been to other services prior to Fiona Childcare, and have found that it can be suggested inevitable, that a service will go through staffing issues but will only come out positive by the way in which the management handles the concerns or issues. My two children love going each day and my youngest is very standoffish and it took no time for her to feel comfortable and welcome and now never wants to leave in the afternoon. I feel that is a true reflection of the nurturing staff that i know and trust at the centre and feel sorry that you didnt get to experience the positives this centre and staff have to offer but am glad you are now at a centre you are happy with, as am I! I would recommend people giving Fiona Childcare a chance, you wont regret it!

My child has been in Fiona for 3 weeks, before we went somewhere else. This was the first centre he has ever been to. It is very upset for us and sad for Fiona that we had to leave after the initial 3 weeks, because of the poor professionalism of the staff and the centre. I am a teacher myself, and I know how important teacher's duty of care is. There were very often when my wife went to pick up my child and she couldn't see any staff, till she went around the corner of the room see the staff is using her computer, this has happened quite a lot within the 3 weeks we were there. There has been one time, that we saw two boys were fighting onto the floor, near the door, when we walked in, there wasn't.'t any staff were aware of it. Sometimes we were asking our self, if we take our child home without telling the staff will she even noticed?! In comparison to the centre we are in now, we felt that staff from Fiona were not friendly to children enough. My child first went to Fiona when he was 18 months, and quite understandably that he would cry, but the staff didn't comfort him instead of leave him cry by himself, there often when we went to pick him up, saw him in corner by himself holding a water bottle, very sad and upset, and there wasn't any staff comforting him at all. On the 2nd day, we dropped him at 10am and the centre called at 2pm to ask us to pick him up because I quote" He has been crying since the morning, and not eating his food, we don't know what to do, can you come and pick him up?" If a centre has no capacity to look after the new child because they are crying and not eating food, why should I spend $95 per day to you guys? Now in the new centre, he is always been looked after and comforted when he is upset, even till now 6 months later, all staff were so friendly and played with kids, not like Fiona that the staff are always on the computer and not been involved with their students. Hopefully Fiona will look into to lift up your standard and bear in mind of your duty of care as a teacher and a centre.
