1 review about Furry Critters

We attended puppy socialization classes run by Furry Critters at Murphy's Paw in Port Melbourne. Unfortunately, we didn't find the classes to be a very positive experience, and we were all relieved (dog included I think) when we had finished the course after 5, 1 hr sessions. The class consisted of 5 pups and their owners (usually 2 per pup) squashed into the very, very small shopfront. We have a large dog breed and found it too difficult to separate our very excitable pup from the other dogs. This class is certainly more suited to the smaller dog breeds. There wasn't very much time spent on socialization for the pups either which was a little dissappointing, since this was one of our objectives of attending in the first place. The class covered the basics on training (sit, drop), and were useful to some extent (especially, if you are a first time owner). However, there wasn't much chance to get advice on specific problems. This was very frustrating, as I was guenuinely interested to find useful solutions to some of our training issues. There was also way too much time spent on pushing certain products (specific brand dog food). In general, I don't think the price was worth it (~$175).
We've since found the general dog obedience classes run at the local park to be much more useful, the advice to be more helpful and the price to be much, much more reasonable.

Approximate cost: $175
