Govinda's is a legend among thrifty vegetarians. It focuses on Hare Krishna cuisine. This means no garlic (and maybe no onion). Other than the lack garlic the food is tasty and pretty cheap.

Govinda's is always a great option when you don't have much money or are looking for a cheap meal. It doesn't matter if you are vegetarian or not.

We ventured into this hole in the wall establishment, up the stairs and were pleasantly surprised... The smell of the food was what stood out and the whole place was just so relaxed! All you can eat buffet was our choice, $12.95 each, fantastic value as this included bottomless traditional ginger cooler drink and dessert. The main food was delicious - we were a little wary at first, but it was beautiful albeit from a bain marie. Highly recommended.

As one of the other reviewers stated, this place really is a hidden gem. Affordable food in generous quantities, and good for you to boot. It may seem a little out of the way, but it is worth your while to find it, and take a peek inside. Excellent value for money, and it might even convince you that vegetarian food can be tasty too!

Worth a visit for the experience itself... You need to have an open mind! The food is great value... Would like to go back soon!

There are some interesting books to read, and you don't need to worry - nobody pressures you into anything.

This place is one of the hidden gems in Brisbane. It you discovered it as a student, you knew you knew the right people, and were on to a good thing.

The food is good, the staff friendly, and the value exceptional. More people should give these guys a visit - it is well worth the effort.

Food is great, what a selection. Matar paneer curry - what more can I say. These guys should do an open day so more people can understand that you don't need meat with everything. Good food is good food.

My brother took me to this place to try as his vegetarian friend always raves about how good this place is. It's hidden on upper level above elizabeth arcade. For $12.90 you get a plate of assorted indian vegetarian dishes, a dessert and drink. I am personally not a fan of Indian cuisine so I find the curries okay. The salads, dessert and 'vegetarian meat balls' and quite unique and refreshing. If you have a big appetite you can ask them to top up - no extra to pay - so great value if you're really hungry!

Approximate cost: $12.9

Great all you can eat restaurant. We've been twice and will go again and again. Decor is not flash, but I did notice some improvement on our last visit. It's the food and price that count, and both are excellent. Give their vegetarian food a try, you won't be disappointed.

I love the all you can eat deal. The kofta is really good. The desert is great, very sweet and filling. Yum.
