Guardian is a fantastic and welcoming place to learn effective self defence skills not only for adults but for kids too! They have a variety of other classes running like boxing, bootcamp and parkour (which is super fun). The staff and instructors are all friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. 10/10!

Guardian Defence is by far the best self defence group that I have come across. With 9 years of prior experience in martial arts, I could tell from the get go that what they teach is very effective for all levels of experience (even better with for those with none!).

They are not just about how to protect ourselves physically, but how to prevent from being a victim and to protect our loved ones WITHOUT going to jail. I cannot recommend this friendly and safety conscious group highly enough!

This is by far the best TKM place in Melbourne! It's down-to-earth, scenarios are reality based, and everyone's friendly (macho-ness isn't welcomed). They review situations that emphasises awareness, pre-emptive decisions, as well as understanding consequences both emotionally and legally. It's the most rounded self-defence class that isn't all about fighting...scenarios are based on defending ourselves in our everyday environment. The instructors are approachable and very supportive of students. The gym upstairs isn't as big as other gyms, but it is a very good addition to regular classes that combine fitness, conditioning, warmups, as well as KM learning. I found starting as a beginner that the beginner levels were suitable to me and if they did slightly higher level scenarios, I had the flexibility of joining in or watching. This is not a no-contact activity but safety is strongly valued here so you can keep coming back to drill. They're working on improving their administration, but if that's not your main concern in learning TKM, then this is a great place to learn it!

They teach 'Tactical Krav Maga', a method of self defence. The Chief Instructor is a petite woman, but her considerable fighting skills prove that you don't need to be a steroid-overdosed muscle-bound bloke to pack a punch. They run a range of courses and sessions, from beginners to advanced and women-only, to cater for all needs. The training room is well equipped with mats, pretend weapons and protective gear.
