Seriously awful. Just had part of lunch there. Inedible. Parma for a Farmer, made from poorest cuts of meat. The schnitzel was like rubber, I couldn't cut it with a knife, without sawing at it so hard that food was knocked off the plate. I couldn't even tear the meat with my teeth. I asked the waitress for a steak knife, hoping to cut the meat into something I could chew, but she took my plate away. She returned with a message from the chef that the rest of the beef schnitzels were also rubbery. So I got four awful bites of Schnitzel for lunch, and was not offered a refund.
My boy's Hampstead Beef Burger had a giant roll, with a tiny patty, smaller than you'd find in a Macca's cheeseburger, to one side of the roll.
Friday lunchtime, the rest of the diners were seniors, with false teeth, who were also seriously struggling to chew their food.
The staff were nice, and the venue clean, but customers go to restaurants for food.
If you can't even do a schnitzel and a burger, you can't do anything.
My schnitzel was $19, and the burger $15.

Had lunch here with a friend today. My first visit and I was very happy with my meal. Great lunchtime special - $14, which gives you access to a selection of main meals as well the salad/hot veg bar. No excuse to walk away hungry.
Good atmosphere and friendly waitress and bar staff.
Would definitely be willing to return.

Really enjoyed having lunch here again with friends. Very nice menu and the chicken kiev was well cooked and presented. It has been awhile since we have been here and it is still a pleasant spot to enjoy a chat. Very good salad and vegetable bar with rolls and butter on it.

We had lunch at this hotel today with family. Very busy place and it was good to have a booking. Seniors lunch menu and a full menu also was available. I had one of the wok dishes of Pda Thai which was nice and a large serve. My husband had the seniors menu of fish (1 piece) next time I think he will ask for 2 pieces. There is a salad bar but I did not venture to it this time. This is a nice place to meet up. Parking at the rear with a large car park

The Hampstead Hotel has a good bistro area with friendly service and a good menu. Fish and chips were tasty and a salad bar is available for those who wish to sample it. A nice place with parking available.

Five ladies who like to talk and talk had lunch here. Good car parking and a nice setting which is well kept. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to make us comfortable. Very good seniors menus and a great salad/vegetable bar. I was able to have fish grilled from the seniors menu as a gluten free dish. This is not always possible as fish can be floured during preparation. Some salads were also dressing free which is a good option for me. As usual we were the last to leave the dining room having had a good talk and a nice lunch.

7 of us went there for dinner on a cold wintery night. There were quite a other people there. The food was hot and tasty. Service was prompt. The staff were friendly. When the baby was sick they had no hesitation in offering assistance. THe vegetables were hot, not tepid temperature as happens in many hotels and restruants

Approximate cost: $11.00

I LOVE salad bars. The Hampstead Hotel did not disappoint. With our Wagyu Beef Burgers we enjoyed a FRESH and decent variety of cold salad and hot vegetables. The carrot and bean combination was not soggy and the cauliflower mornay was well cooked without the liquid run-off that can sometimes occur. Our burgers came as ordered - no dressing etc.. Quite a few diners by 6 pm yet we waited for only 20 minutes. The bistro area is large and noisy but we were still able to have a conversation without shouting. They have a good range of prices and menu choices. Good for a couple or family.

Approximate cost: $18

Not bad for a pub meal. Have a salad and vegetable bar and when you put it with roast of the day it is one to remember. Happy with freshness of the food and service.

We went ot Hampstead Hotel recently. Luckly we had a booking as many were turned away. The restruant was packed out. The food was magic - smorgasboard all you could eat for a certain price. There were so many choices, including seafood. The only place we queued at all was at the desserts but there quite a few high school students there that night (we suspect many were on a rotary exchange) - they were mostly in school uniform and the soft serve icecream was very popular. They had plenty of food suitable for young toddlers. We had a 14 month old with us and had no problem finding suitable food for him.
