Happy House Sitters

We have just posted our third advert with you and can only hope that we are as fortunate this time as we have been in the past. It is always so good to have peace of mind knowing that while we are away our pets are well looked after & our home is lived-in rather than locked up & reliant on our neighbours/friends. We still keep in touch with our previous sitters who were both excellent and always in demand .. which is why they are not available this time round! I am currently subscribed to three online House-Sitting websites, and can honestly say that compared to their competitors, "Happy House Sitters" service delivery is so bad that I would strongly recommend against using them. Unlike their competitors, HHS charge a hefty fee for every geographical zone you select. Thus subscribers are limited to only those house-sitting opportunities falling within one's particular zone. If you want to broaden your search by even a few additional kilometers, you are required to pay the full fee for access to the adjacent zone.
However, adding to one's frustration is the fact that navigating their website is difficult, and their search engine does not work effectively, with the result that opportunities falling within one's zone are not always picked up.
Over the past thirty days, I have received only two notifications from HHS, compared to an average of FIVE PER DAY from the other service providers.
Worst still, they have not bothered to respond to my written complaint about their lack of service delivery, despite my warning that I would go public about my dissatisfaction unless matters improved.
In my opinion, this service is definitely not worth the fee being charged, and should be avoided.

While looking for reliable house-sitters, I was lucky enough to find the Happy House-Sitters website run by Ruth and Malcolm based in Victoria. I am from Perth, but despite the distance I always got quality service from this Company. All the house-sitters who cared for our home and pets while we were on holiday were professional, caring and responsible. Our pets - two dogs and a cuckatoo were well cared for. Our garden and house were kept in clean and immaculate order. The third time we went away for a holiday and accessed Happy House-sitters, the young couple assigned to us were caught in a very inconvenient and awkward situation where we had to transfer to a new house as we were able to suddenly sell our old home and to vacate it asap. But the young couple just took this in stride, assured us that our initial arrangements with them were still in place, and they would help to facilitate the changeover. So we went off on our holiday unburdened by stress. We came back with our pets happy in their new home and with the place and garden looking well tended and cared for. I and my husband have recommended and will always recommend Happy House-Sitters to our friends and acquaintances intending to leave for a holiday.

We have used house sitters via Happy House Sitters for over 3 years and never had a problem. Their process of connecting people is sound and allows for reference checking. We recommend that you do the reference check and have an interview with the person/s. Remember the agency connect you its your responsibility to choose well. We would recommend HHS unconditionally.

I first joined HHS 4 years ago and my current membership has just expired. During March I was offered and accepted a 6 month house sit.
This will be quite a change to be in the same house for such a long term after being in a different house/suburb every few weeks!! Be assured once this long term sit is completed I will be renewing my membership :)

My husband and I signed up for a NSW $89 4 month membership in order to try staying somewhere closer to work in the Sydney area while we were looking for a place to buy and then move in.

I sent out around 20 requests and have had no luck. I have a feeling that people would prefer older couples or singles to stay in their homes who are available during the day, as opposed to a working couple in their early 30's - though was even able to work from home on occasion if need be. We also have plenty of pet experience plus references from AirBnB apartments we have stayed in while travelling, and were flexible with our dates. For us the membership has been a waste of money to date.

A suggestion would be to charge customers once you are actually successful in obtaining at least one house sit, otherwise you feel a bit jipped.

I have been with Happy House Sitters for the last 9 months and am impressed with the amount & caliber of house sits available. My Christmas house sit was perfect & will be a repeat house sit. I have received excellent support setting up my profile and the staff are always quick to answer my calls. I highly recommend Happy House Sitters.

We joined HHS last year and have only had the opportunity of one housesit so far, due to us having less availability than we'd expected. However it was a great experience and we continue to be on the lookout for anything we might be able to do especially being able to stay independently while visiting family when they don't have space for us to stay at the moment. We get a good night's sleep and feel like we are helping someone else have a good break away with peace of mind that their home, garden and pets are safe. The site is easy to use and we are regularly sent emails to alert us to places we have chosen to want to stay. Excellent and prompt contact to any queries we have had too from Malcolm, really helpful and personal service.

The website is easy to navigate for both Sitters and Home-owners, and I have only had a couple of occasions where I've actually needed to contact them directly, but when I have they have always been courteous, helpful, and efficient.

We have been members for most of the last five years and are extremely satisfied with this company. We have always found them to have the most house sits available compared to other house sitting sites. We have never experienced any problems with home owners at all, in fact most of our current house sits are now repeats. On a couple of occasions I have had to actually speak to Ruth and she has phoned me back the same day and has always been able to resolved my query on the spot. They are not just about taking our money and leaving us abandoned, they are active with updates to their site and are listing new housesits several times a day which is more than other house sitting sites do. They really do have the most house sits and are well worth investing in if you are serious about house sitting.

I joined HHS in 2013 as my husband is renovating our house and we plan to move to the peninsula. Its been wonderful to gain house sits near the place we would like to live, giving us the opportunity to explore these areas. All the home owners we have met have been wonderful people who love and care about their pets. I have found the site easy to use and find getting the new listings help me plan the next sit easily. We loved the idea of Happy House Sitter's guarantee and for a year or so, we used the free guest search function to see what house sitting was available in our area. After signing up as full members, we sealed our first house sit within just a couple of weeks and have had people approach us through our profile. It's been so easy and is a terrific way to meet lovely people and feel that you're doing these wonderful people a favour in caring for their home and pets.

Happy Housesitters is a great site, I find there is many houses available in all areas. The service is great and any queries are taken care of promptly by customer service.

I have only been using the Happy Housesitters website for a short time now and have already received confirmation of two housesitting positions.
The website is simple and easy to use however very professional with position alerts updated daily. I feel secure in providing my personal information and details via the website to prospective home owners who would like their homes and 'fur families' cared for whilst they are on holidays as I know this information is safe and will not be passed on to a third party.

We have been using Happy House Sitters for 2 years now and have always found the service to be extremely good - a very well run website with notifications daily of new potential sits. We have enjoyed living in lovely houses for lovely people and getting the added benefit of caring for some lovely pets!

We are house and pet sitters. We have had many housesits via Happy House Sitters, all serious about needing a house and pet sitter. House sits vary in Locations around sydney and usually we house and pet sit cats and dogs.

I've used Happy House Sitters for the last 7 months as a house and pet sitter. It's a great way to live a rent free life and have a fun journey. I work from home so i love changing it up every few weeks.

But most importantly their site is alive & well, with new homeowners registering daily. The initial outlay pays for itself in no time - just do the math!!

Happy house sitters is a great company. I have been a member for 3 years and through this company I have found many house sits and have made many friends. Their website is easy to navigate around and the system is simple and efficient. It really works!

I used Happy House Sitters myself prior to becoming a member. Now I am house sitting for others. There are always new houses/pets coming up for sitting. The site is easily accessed and used by both home owners and sitters. It's affordable for all and a good deal for the pets that get to remain in their own homes while their owners take a break.

Happy housesitters is a great reputable site. One thing I really like is that even though online business they are so quick to reply to emails, any time or day.
I have housesat some lovely houses and made good friends with home owners also. So it's more than just house sitting, it's also relationships, be with people or pets

Happy Housesitters site is terrific. I have used it when looking for someone to look after my pet & home (twice) and am using it now as a housesitter myself. Have had so many homes to choose from and am exploring the east coast - it's great! Very easy to use.

We're fairly new in Australia and have been members for only 4 months. We're on our first house/cat sit now and have another one lined up. It's been great for us so far. We've met very nice people and we get to know the area really well as well as saving a lot of money! We don't have any experience of any other house sitting business but we can (and have!) recommend Happy House Sitters any day! There's one important feature that should be added to the website; a direct link to Google Maps so that you can straight away click on the area and see where it is, i.e when looking for a house/apartment on Gumtree.

We have been registered with Happy House Sitters for approximately four years and in that time have house sat in Western Australia, New South Wales and Qld while travelling Australia. Happy House Sitters has presented us with more opportunities to sit than anyone else comes close to, and quickly respond to our communications with them. Our house sits have been suburban and rural properties (our preference) with medium and large dogs. We've met some lovely homeowners and developed friendships, remaining in regular contact. Its a great way to really get a feel for their communities.
