The most relaxing place in Victoria have always loved coming here it never gets boring so love this place each visit there is always something new to see my kids love this place to
It had been a very long time ago that we visited this sanctuary with our children so decided a return visit was in order. Lovely autumn day and we enjoyed wandering along and seeing all the native Australian animals. It was a great day and the staff do a great job. Also enjoyed coffee in the cafe when we needed a break from wandering.
I would say it was been about 15 years since we have been here. We must pay them a visit on our next trip over, I am wondering how much it must have changed during this time.
Alway remember going here as a child in the 70's with school to this day l still so much enjoy going here my children love comjnb here l reckon best native zoo in Australia
I went here for year 7 camp and it has all kinds of fantastic animals. It's definitely a great learning experience, especially if you come from the city.
Fantastic Birds Sanctuary I had seen till now. U will get an experience of feeding the birds. Colorful parrots. There is one show conducted called spirit of sky which was wonderful..
Approximate cost: $210
A fantastic place for all the family. All Australian native animals. Beautiful enclosures, amazing array of animals. Easy to stroll around and you can gain close up views of animals. You can join Zoos Victoria also and have discount entry. I go several times a year and the enclosures are always changing.
Lovely place for a family day out. We took the in laws here when they were visiting from oversea's and they loved seeing all the native species of animals. The talks were very informative.
Wonderful place to take kids or international visitors to see Australian wildlife in a bush setting. I never realised dingoes were so huge. The highlight would have to be the midday bird show. You get to see birds soar high in the sky and zoom in so close you're awe struck. The health centre was fascinating and we saw a little bird having surgery. A great day out, take your own food to save costs, although they do a very nice hot chocolate.
Took my 4 year old niece she absolutely loved it. She was so excited and the staff were so lovely pointing out birds for her asking her what her favourite animal is etc. Really worth going too the animals seem happy and it doesn't look like a normal zoo it has a nice setting.
Not a bad place at all to spend a beautiful day! Mind you this is not a zoo.. but instead is a place to see the animals which are native only to Australia. You will see Tasmanian Devils, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Echidnas (similar to Porcupines), Wombats, Emus, a variety of Birds, Koalas & small reptiles.
You don't want to miss the 'Bird Show'. Try getting to it a little early & get a seat in the shade. It seems to be a favorite among most.. and was mine too.
They have a couple of snack places w/junk food such as cold sandwiches, beef pies, coffees, cold drinks, organic potato chips, etc. And I believe that there is a restaurant too.. but I didn't go to it.. since we had booked a reservation outside the park.
There is also a gift shop that sells t-shirts, souvenirs, books, stuffed animals, cute jewelry/accessories, hats, umbrellas & things of that nature.
It is fairly easy to get around without a map. The directions & signs they have everywhere are very helpful & will lead you to whatever you are looking for.
Approximate cost: $27 per adult
