Was refused a refund of my deposit after they started work on a contract and then rescheduled the remaining contract service dates over 20 times. They failed to provide 95% of the remaining contracted goods and services. Finally got sick of it after 174 days. Called Hire A Hubby main call centre for support and they made situation far worse. Was assigned a "Field Manager" who although pleasant, was totally ineffective. Found Hire A Hubby Upwey (husband and wife team) coercive and menacing after being challenged for a remedy under Australian Consumer Law. They actually caused panic attacks. Will now be taking Hire A Hubby Upwey to VCAT for breaches of same law and deceptive and misleading conduct.
Extremely disappointing, unprofessional, and appalling "service." Would NOT recommend under any circumstances. The work done was substantially substandard and did not meet the specific purpose of what we had asked for.
- They demanded payment for work they did not do
- They also demanded payment on multiple occasions BEFORE the due date / very confronting
- Caused damage to our garden
- In the end, we paid to have their work corrected and redone by someone else
My advice is to stay away from Hire-A-Hubby Upwey, regretful experience!
