IGA X-press

Wholemeal bread stacked on 2 shelves with pricing $4.90. At checkout it was $7.90. Check the prices on every item. I shop at Bellerive Foodstore as they seem more competent at keeping up this pricing. It's unacceptable

This store has greatly improved over the years. It is now bigger and newer. The items are fresher than before. However, the items at the store are really expensive and so I am wary of buying stuff from here.

This local supermarket has undergone a recent renovation - it has a new layout, looks clean & bright, and is easy to negotiate. They have a nice little deli, good fruit and vegetable section (with lots of Tasmanian produce), and fresh bread from local bakeries such as the Richmond Bakery. They also have a good range of grocery items and support many Tasmanian producers. The staff there are very friendly and helpful, particularly to customers with small children (car service is available). Prices are good, and they have weekly specials. Often I can park right outside the shop door. I shop there on a regular basis as I enjoy shopping there - as opposed to the large supermarket giants nearby. They even have decent hot chocolate or coffee available to purchase if you need an energy boost during or after shopping!
