Il Primo Posto

My partner and I dined here early on Saturday night. It wasn't too busy so the service was relatively quick. It was cold outside so we sat near the back inside but unfortunately there was a door we didn't see that kept opening-would have been nice if we were directed elsewhere. The garlic bread was tasty but perhaps overpriced at $8.50. I ordered the pasta croquettes and there wasn't much taste to them. The tomato sauce it was with was very fresh and nice but the croquettes were boring and tasted a bit burnt. My partner had the lamb shanks and said they were delicious. As an Italian restaurant on Southbank I think they need to pick up there game a bit to bring back customers.

One of my favourite Italian restaurants along the Yarra river. It's quick and easy Italian food when it comes to supplier visits. We often visit this restaurant when our suppliers from interstates or overseas are rushing for time. Food is great, prices are reasonable and portion is good.

Try the quick set lunch...it's not too bad. Service is good too.

Approximate cost: $15-$20.00

A trifle expensive for what I would call glorified pub food. If they call this Italian cuisine, then they are dreaming. Italian cuisine is about flavour and tradition and this place displayed neither.

We dined here on a busy Saturday night, but although we got a table quickly we had to wait half and hour for someone to take our order. We recieved our entree very quickly (the best garlic bread we've ever had though!) but had to wait another HOUR for our main meals!! The table next to us ordered after us and got their meals before us. When we finally got our mains they were overcooked and tasteless. Very disappointing. They didn't offer us any apologies for the wait either.
