Ordered on line the 250/25 service on the 16th April, scheduling in the service cutover for the 27th April. Received an onboard email which stated they had received the order and a brief outline of the service...this outline did not state the subscribed speed (more on that later). 27th comes and goes...no service, not equipment. Equipment turns up on the 28th. Instructions state that its preconfigured and ready to go. I plug in and its using Cellular network, speed of approx. 7-9Mbps. I contact them and they state it can take 24-48 hrs to provision. 29th, I contact them, the speed has increased to 25Mbps but not the 250Mbps i signed up for. They argue with me that I only signed up for 25Mbps, after this going back and forth they admit that the system can default to the basic package. They assure me that this will be fixed within the next 24-48hrs and that I will be up and running over the weekend. I explicitly ask that if not, is there a team working on the weekend to rectifiy, assurances are given. Not the case. Monday still no 250Mbps. The problem now is that my phone number has not ported and they cannot change anything on the account, do anything at all until this is done. They state this will take anywhere up to 5 business days. They give me the option to cancel the porting of the number but this will take up to another 5 business days. Its now the 6th May. Ive report this to the communications ombudsman, and still no action for them to expedite or prioritize. I would not recommend this provider for anything!!

I have requested a new connection to be given by a certain date my settlement is passed, and I have again and again mentioned the guy on the chat to not disconnect the existing service until that given date, unfortunately, they didn't even care about the date and now my vendor having difficulties getting their existing connection back. cannot recommend at all. even before I'm getting the connection, I started having troubles with this service.

Worst service you could ever imagine, no communication on repair status to an already broken connection, repair time took 3x longer than promised (not even an acknowledgement of it either, they just brushed it off). Still charged for service without internet even though they said they wouldn't.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, to be honest the price isn't even that good either, definitely better companies out there for everything

Internet service is ok but customer service is lacking for anything outside technical support. App has very little to offer and doesnt delivery what is stated. Making contact is difficult ie customer support by phone unavailable, chat unavailable, contact through Facebook unavailable. I been with iprimus for almost 2yrs and have only discovered how poor service is because I had a problem.

Have been with iprimus for a little over a year. Started off with ADSL2 then moved to NBN.
Initial service was good with reasonable speeds. ( House has 3 to 5 users).
Good deal with free mobile and STDcalls but a fee for 1300 numbers.
Average monthly fee was $80.
Catch is that if you forget to pay on time you are charged a $15 late fee.
Iprimus is supposed to supply the bill via email. (Sometimes they do most times they don't). We are on FTN network and our node seems to be in Melbourne. So what as we are in Hobart.
Speeds seem to be variable between 12Kbs and 500Kbs. at times of low network traffic we get up to 800 Kbs. Service has ranged between poor to excellent but mostly in the poor range.
Modem blew up and when contacted, Iprimus replaced it for free within 3 days. (Great service but they are still unable or not willing to explain the speed variations. We know that too many user on the network is the main problem. Even when we pay bills on time the usual cost is over $90. They send a paper bill if we forget to pay which usually arrives the day after they cut the service. Recommend that you have a viable mobile service if you use this provider

Considering switching providers but are locked into a 2 year contract.
Have advised the company that we are considering terminating the contract due to failure to provide a Reliable service.
Their response "We are investigating your problems and will advise".
I would NOT recommend this provider

This company has let me down no end.I initially changed providers because the woman on the other end of the phone seemingly gave me a good offer for my ADSL l, landline and mobile, but to my disgust, the bill was almost double the amount I paid the previous month .The landline charges alone nearly gave a heart attack. Their customer service stinks. Steer clear of iprimus.

Approximate cost: $230.

To say I'm disappointed with IPrimus would be an understatement. I transferred my ADSL2 service to them in January of this year to a NBN service. I kept my same home phone number, received a new modem plugged in and no problem, internet is working just fine.
But I still have NO phone service at home and they are still not able to rectify this, they can't even provide feedback......
I phone in daily to ask for an update - where the Philippines based call centre can't and does't provide any feedback !!!!!!

I had never heard of iPrimus until a leaflet arrived via 'junkmail'
Deal looked great, so I rang them. A week later the modem arrives (I'm in the NT) three days later it's up and running. Home phone, mobile numbers, data all unlimited $79 per month.
Excellent communication, excellent service so far. I'll keep you posted.!

Never. Cannot receive any service for Australia .I am constantly being charged calling mobile phones from my landline. I do not have a physical phone plugged in so there is no way I have made these calls, I can not get any service. It is so frustrating. Stay away from iprimus.. I have been a customer for over 12 years . Save yourself hours more like days on the phone and unlawful charges. Stay away. Such bad service.

After calling to discuss their different bundle options I asked for the information to be emailed to me. I was told this is not allowed because connection changes all the time??? When I asked for the link on their page to the information we were discussing, the guy (who is Indian) got pissed off and said if I OK the deal now, he can process it to the tech team and if I change my mind after reading the information, that is fine. I won't be charged for anything. I asked if I could have his extension number, he gave me his employee number and stated if I call back, they will say he isn't their. I would have to start from the start and that person would get the credit.....I hung up on him grrrrrr

I left the ripoff merchants Telstra to go to iPrimus and think they are wonderful.Based in Melbourne so you always get an Australian to talk to,very helpful and efficient. My mobile costs $10 a month and I got a free smartphone,Telstra was $40 a month plus I had to pay for phone. Also have ADSL2 with them, never any problems.Best iSP I have ever had.

I used iprimus as my phone carrier believing them to be a cheaper or better alternative to optus bundle package. In the entire time i was with them the bill was closer to 120 to 140 a month, TPG does it for $79.95 and includes unlimited national mobile calls , national and local calls and 13, 1300 numbers. Iprimus used to drop out all the time, customer service had no idea about this or how to fix it. You could starve to death ringing for customer support and unless you do it from a landline it will cost you a bomb. The amount of extra charges here and there on your bill just got to me

Icy006 23 Apr 2013

Thanks for the review. I'm gonna go with TPG now. Thanks again!

We have been with Iprimus for 4 years now.
I initially looked at all the plans and realised we wanted a few things.
They were:
Free phone calls (local and std)
No line rental
A reasonable amount of download limit.

I narrowed it down that we wanted Naked DSL.
Iprimus were the only company to offer unlimited free local and national phone calls for a rate under $60 for 40gb of data.
This suited us perfectly as we had previously been paying that plus a phone line plus calls. A great deal we couldn't get elsewhere.

So far the customer service has been fairly reasonable, you generally speak to someone from Australia which is great.
Download speeds tend to be a little inconsistent, I'm a fairly patient person so it doesn't bother me too much, you do get good speeds but maybe not great.

Approximate cost: $60

Hi, just read your revue and concur with your findings I have been with iprimus since 1999 had tried a few providers before I committed to iprimus. Speed inconsistency was always my problem but this apparently depends on how far you are actually away from the Exchange My walking distance is 2km but the planed layout of the line before it gets to me is double the distance however compared to my neighbor across the road he obtains speed a lot higher no matter what I do I am locked in to a average speed of 5300kb per second but when downloading it depends from where it comes from my main point is when I do have a problem iprimus was always there which i could not say from other internet providers so I am
staying with iprimus as I believe i can trust it could be worse with others ? good luck

robertn6 13 Apr 2013

Download of 40GB too low and speed needs to be consistant.

Moved house, where with a different company but couldn't get them at the new location.
Rang Iprimus and was told I could keep my current number, (only moving around the corner). Arranged connection for set date a week later. Not connected on the day arranged, rang told could not keep number so connection didn't happen. Had to re arrange connection with a different number, told would take another three days. Not connected on day again, rang and told would have to book a service call with telstra, could cost us dollars and would take a few more days. When I complained and told them the whole story again they said they would check a few things. Suddenly phone was connected, no tech needed.

Not the best starting experience.

Hi Meshe, thanks for a well written review. Clearly a shamefully inadequate service. Thanks for the heads-up. Reeces

I have no complain for their quality and performance. But honestly, their account department are terrible and very very rude. On the other hand, their support team are helpful and good at what they are doing. One thing that makes me change provider is that there are other providers with better value and better service.

Have been a customer of iprimus for 5+ yrs now, wonderful provider, no problems at all. Have previously had other providers including "big" ones and nothing but probs, i.e. dropouts, etc. I will not be changing again, would have to be exceptional deal.

Alot of problems with Internet drop outs. The call center is in INDIA and most of the time you are stuck on hold for over 40min just to find out you cant understand the person on the other end or they don't understand you. The internet was slow at the best of times however was cheap enough.

I would recommend iprimus to anyone looking for telecommunication. I was not happy with my other provider. When \ever I have a problem they are very helpful. Today I was having trouble with my email set up and they were just great. I like the idea of their live chat. I had a very helful gentleman and then on the phone another very helpful man. We have every thing with iprimus and all items are bundled on the one account so much easier.

We have our home phone & internet with iPrimus (for @ 2 years) and I find them great. Their technical call centre (for internet) is great and we've never had any major issues with them overcharging us or anything. Very happy with iPrimus and would recommend them to family & friends (and have).

We use Iprimus for our home and internet. So far we haven't had many problems with them. They do a bundled package. The call rate are reasonable. They have high late fees (just don't pay late) and they charge small amounts for paying with credit or a penalty fee for not paying by automatic direct deposit. But all in all they are better than telstra.

customer service was really bad, they double charged me for everything, they stuffed up my number, then gave me another one, then the phone responded to two numbers, it took 3 weeks from moving house to get phone connected, it took two months to get my broadband connected, all the while they charged me for the service i wasnt getting
