I have been shopping at JJs with my Mum initially as a little tike and then for school uniform fabric, birthday dresses, then for my school formal dress and my wedding dress. Mum used to make all of her own clothes and all of my clothes from fabric bought at JJs. I now shop there for myself, for all sorts of things. No it isn't one of the major retailers, thank heavens, there is no air conditioning and sometimes it is a little disorganised but there are always treasures to be found and the staff are always happy to help even if they are a bit busy - sometimes you have to wait but that just gives you time to find more treasures. Go there for an explore.

I have been shopping here for over 20 years and I am yet to come away disappointed. If staff are rushed off their feet they are more than happy to help. I do a lot of craft work and this is the cheapest place to get a very good variety of fabrics, trims and assorted notions. I usually come away with more ideas for new craft items because of something different I found in there. Please support this business as it would be a massive loss to crafters if it were to close. Thank you to great staff for many years of help.

Been shopping here for over 30 years. Dont knock the staff they do ok in trying conditions. Ever been there on a 30 deg. day. Its not spotlight so dont expect it to be. Its a treasure trove of lots of interesting things. Go there with time to spare and you are sure to find a bargain.

I've been shopping here on and off for 20 years and I think it's a great shop for fabrics and notions. I disagree with other reviewers in that I've never had any issues with the service. At least they cut straight and don't skimp on the length to be cut unlike Spotlight. They're often busy but they're fast and efficient. What do you want for bargain prices?

Yes, as other reviewers have said the service isnt amazing, but it is reasonable. However, the prices are worth coming to JJs for- many bargains snatched up here over the years. Also, its important to support a small business like this- particularly when there are so few sewing and fabric shops around Worth having cash with you, too.

There aren't many places left where you can get sewing gear, material and haberdashery stuff anymore. The big chains are weeding them out. But, in Redcliffe we have one. It's not the flashiest place, the best service or the non existent parking that is the draw here. The fact is, there isn't another one for kilometres. I only go here for things I can't get at other stores. It's sad, because I think they could make a little more effort to get the customers in.

If you're into sewing, this is definitely the shop to visit. They have a fantastic range of materials, cotton, buttons etc. at really low prices.
However, the store is very untidy and it can often take awhile to find what you're looking for. The staff aren't very friendly either and not very helpful if you have questions about your sewing project.
If you've got the time and patience to find what you're looking for, this place is definitely good value for money

This is a shop full to the brim of end of line fabrics. An old fashioned shop that you need to get in and look, turn over the rolls to find others & generally go on a treasure hunt. I have spent many hours in there and have come out with some fantastic buys. Always well below what you would normally buy. Top value!!!!
