For nearly $200 an hour you would expect a premium and stress-free service and was definitely far from the case. Not to mention the lack of communication or follow-up to address customer issues raised.
I had booked in with JB removals to do a move in early October 2023 and all interaction seemed fine enough at the beginning. I had booked for Friday afternoon and the contact person at JB had said to shift my move to earlier in the afternoon at 4pm so I had agreed. To accommodate for that time, I took a half day off work.
On the day I received zero communication from the company even just to say they were on their way. I waited till 4.40pm until I had to reach out myself via the general contact number. The admin person I spoke to had no idea where the guys doing the job where. After I followed up, I got sent a message saying they were coming at 5.30 due to delays. Understood that unexpected things happen but no communication was appalling. The half day off work ended up a waste and it just meant it would take longer battling peak time traffic.
When I secured the booking, I had also sent the admin/manager person instructions with a map on where to park to make accessing the pick up location quicker and easier. I asked the removalists if they had received this and they said no. Clearly this important information had not been forwarded on and so I had to dig through all my messages to send it again directly to the removalists.
The removalists eventually came at 5.30 and completed the move. I actually give the review two stars just for the job the actual removalists done who were diligent and hard workers. I could not fault them on the actual move.
When I had made the initial enquiry and subsequent booking, I had asked about the 10% discount shown on the website for new clients. When it came to make payment and the discount wasn’t showing, I asked again. Contacting the management again, they now advised me it was only for storage clients. I told them I had asked about this during my calls to organise the move and I hadn’t been told this before. There are no terms and conditions on the website saying it only applied to storage clients and the advertised discount also appears on the web pages specifically related to just moving (e.g moving calculator) so how is a regular customer to know? I spoke to another manager and he said he would listen back to the calls and look into this. One or two weeks go by and I hear nothing. I followed up and asked if they’d be listened to but they hadn’t. I asked again and was assured they would relisten to them. Then of course I never hear anything again.
The absolute lack of communication and not addressing raised issues is extremely disappointing. They just ignore you waiting until you are a customer that just goes away. Please save your time, money and frustration and you could go with literally anybody else.

Bad communication and customer service. The actual contractors were lovely but it took 2 months for the company to collect the boxes and refund the ones I didn’t use. October to December 2020. And I followed up a number of times over the 2 months. That gives you an idea of how frustrating the whole process is. They should have paid me for my time.

I’ve used lots of removalists before but would advise strongly against using JB Removals.

We've used quite a few removal companies over the years, never had such a bad experience.
The removalists that came on the day were subcontracted by JB and were not fully aware of the job to do. Nice guys though.
Main issue was with management: as part of the move we had a piano to move, and paid extra for a piano expert to come move it, but JB forgot to ask if we had steps at the house, and it didn't even cross our minds that would be an issue (apparently everyone is ought to be a removal specialist), so of course the guys did not have equipment and could not move the piano into the new place. By the way, the piano expert never came.
On the day, management told us not to worry, they can come back with lifting equipment to finish the job. They never did, never cared, and let us wait 2 weeks with the piano outside the house, blaming us for no mentioning the steps. after which we hired another removalist to finish the job (it took 10 minutes to get the piano in!)
Unless you don't care about your belongings and like to be ignored when in need, I would not recommend this company for your move.

I used their services for a 2 bedroom unit. Got a bit of problem with some scratches and damages but they reimbursed me to compensate. Thanks

We moved a five-bedroom home including SPA and piano, and the team did a fantastic job, excellent service, polite and well presented which it was a much better experience than we had a with a few companies in Sydney. We will be using JB again

This is the first time I hire JB removals and I'd say it's a pleasant experience. Service is done in a professional and friendly way and with a reasonable price.

I wanted to buy a used piano but didn't checked it before, and didn't have any exp with piano playing so hard to describe questions of it, like type, height, dimensions of it.

Maria took my enquiry call and answered my questions promtly and politely, and gave me a precise quote and booking time, based on a photo of the piano I sent to her.

Then the two young men, Michel and Ali, arrived next day on time and got the job done efficiently. Truck was clean and tools were well organised. They were both polite and professional, and were considerable when doing it, like paying attention not to hit anything and trying to give way to other people when moving slowly in the stairwell.

Definetely will recommend to my friends who need a hand.

Quick and easy to get a quote and to book with about a week's notice. Mine was a one-person move, but I was amazed to discover how much stuff I'd accumulated in 5 years in my old flat. Nonetheless the 2 removalists dealt with it all in under the 2-hour minimum period. Haven't found any scratches on my lovely wooden furniture as a result. Thanks, great job

Our experience with Camilo and Kalvin today was excellent. So professional and took so much care with our furniture, especially our expensive italian leather couches and fragile kitchen ware and they also took care moving everything into our brand new home - needless to say we were extra worried about risk of damage to our newly built home but they took so much care and respected our things and we are so grateful to them for making a stressful and difficult task, that bit less stressful. They even helped us put our couches back together and put the boxes in the right rooms and move our unwanted furniture into our garage. The guys were excellent. Very conscious of the door frames and corridors. They worked consistently and were exceptionally strong and keen to make sure everything was looked after. Would use again/recommend.

Two lovely young men managed our move. Although the job turned out to be much bigger than I had anticipated, they handled it efficiently and with good grace. Nothing was too much trouble and they never seemed to tire. Everything was delivered ship shape and we are very grateful for their professionalism.

Although there were a few issues with the move (Late arrival and the move was slower than I would have liked) JB removalists were incredibly responsive to my complaint and offered a refund for the inconvenience. I Would use them again.

Have used this guys for second time and find they great access was very challenging I was current in a 4 bedroom house being a 3 story house, they had all stairs rail covered up also all doors so no fuss no damage during the removal process. Highly recommend this guys

Submissions to our job gave hourly rates without an estimate of number of hours. We invited three providers to do a site inspection and give a fixed quote to Pack->Move->Unpack. While not the cheapest, we felt most comfortable with JB (Jeff). The people packing and unpacking included women so that my wife felt comfortable. The last actions the removalists performed was to assemble our bed ... then make it! This is a temporary move because we are renovating. When we move back in a few months, we will be engaging JB Removals again.

Efficiency, communication, professionalism. Best 3 worlds to describe the moment from the call to the moving day. Team have moved us twince. Well deserved review plus tip to the boys. We'll be using again!
