We have been coming to see John now for the past 5 years and are extremely happy. We all feel very comfortable with leaving our Pooch with him and his staff and highly recommend him ti anyone. Keep up the good work John and see you soon.

Our dog Bear has been under the care of John the Vet and his staff all of his life. He turned 12 today! We didnt think that he would live this long. He has been treated and cared for cushings disease and has over the past two/three years had bladder stone surgery and two cruciate ligament repairs. (We have lost track of time) He is doing very well. His cushings is under control (touch wood) and he now has the energy of a puppy! Thank you John and staff for your focused attention, professionalism and dedication and supporting us through some of the toughest decisions and experiences with Bear.

Moved to the area recently and was looking for a good vet for my kelpie who is the princess in the family. John was so engrossed in the state of my dog that he forgot to introduce himself, my partner and I loved that about him. His love for animals is well demonstrated with the ease of which he handles himself. Great manner with myself in describing the necessary procedure for my dog and left me with a very good understanding of what was necessary and optional to make an informed decision. The reception staff / nurses also have a great attitude.
Thank You to all the staff.

We have had several dogs in our family that have John as their regular vet, and we have been nothing but happy with every element of their service. Regardless of the illness or injury, John the Vet and all the staff at the surgery have been caring, understanding, and above all, have made sure the dogs health and best interest comes first. We can't thank them enough for all they have done over the last 15 years for our family.

John and his staff did a fantastic job with my dog (Marley)after he ruptured his ACL, operation was done very quickly and after care instructions/follow up visits were brilliant. With almost no prior relationship I have even been allowed to pay the bill off.

Approximate cost: $1300

Since moving to Melbourne, I've been struggling to find a vet who is caring, compassionate and genuinely interested in my dog. I had tried three other vets in the area before I found John on WOMO and none of them even came close to providing such a positive and welcoming experience.

My dog gets really stressed when it comes to vet visits but John put a lot of effort into getting to know him and keeping him as relaxed as possible. He did a full work up in addition to giving him his vaccinations and was genuinely interested in finding out his medical history and making sure that all bases were covered. The appointment didn't feel rushed and I felt that I could ask lots of questions without being a pain in the butt (what can I say, I love my dog!)

John and his staff are absolutely lovely. They made the visit as stress-free and positive as possible for me and my dog and he's now got me as a customer for life!

We came to see John for a 3rd opinion in a desperate attempt to help our dog who was deteriorating by the day. After getting the run around from other vets and feeling that their only concern was how much $ they could squeeze out of us, we weren't feeling too confident.....Bottom line, John is simply the best! He took the time to go over our dog with a fine tooth comb and think out of the box to come to a solution that others failed to find. Our dog is now back to his happy, healthy self!

I recently recommended John to a friend who was in a similar situation with her older dog and he provided the same level of care and expertise to put him on the road to recovery.

His compassion for animals and their owners, combined with his great sense of humor, is second to none. We are so grateful to have found John!!

I have been to several vets with my 2 dogs and can honestly say that John and the other staff are the best I've been to. When my clever dog swallowed a kebab skewer whole it meant several visits and treatments waiting for it to pass through him. Eventually surgery was needed and the care & attention he received was excellent. The cost was also a good deal less than my experience at other vets. I have faith to take my dogs in to see John for any type of treatment and would recommend this practice to others.

It's amazing what dogs will swallow, and it's also amazing what will sometimes just pass happily out the other end. Not this time, though, sadly. But all's well that ends well.
Thanks for the nice review!

Cant speak highly enough of John. He went above and beyond to save our family pet who I'm sure would not be with us today if it wasn't for his help. John has been our family Vet for just over 10 years and has helped our 2 rats, cat and dog. Has a great sense of humor!

So what sets John apart from the rest? He empathises with your animal more so than with the owner. He has a great sense of humour and makes animals at ease. They like you to make appointments but always willing to come and have converstaion with you in waiting room. I like his style.

John is an outstanding vet and has a great way with people. He loves the animals as well. The staff love working there because he is a great boss.

John is simply wonderful. I went there on the recommendation of a friend who had cats and dogs and she positively raved about this clinic. Having taken my pets there for about five years now, I understand why she was so positive.

I have taken animals - from horses and cattle to domestic pets - to about a dozen different vets over many years and John stands out.  He is everything you want in a vet; calm, assured and compassionate and I don't hesitate in recommending him to any of my friends.  I have experienced vets who want to push you into the most costly treatment option, who don't listen to the descriptions of the animal's problem, ones who aggressively seek to add on additional, high cost services, and I've seen vets who are downright incompetent.  None of this applies when you deal with John the Vet.

On a personal level John is affable, on the ball and has a sense of humor, whilst professionally he is competent, up to date and committed. He is firm but gentle with the animals.  The clinic is always clean and tidy.  I have been in the waiting area, the surgery, the consultation room and the pet boarding area and everything is neat and well-kept and it is very obvious that  the staff are all animal lovers.   I am a repeat customer, I buy most of my cat's food through John so I visit the clinic every 6-8 weeks.

In 2006 John cared for one of our cats who was in terrible pain.  After exploring every option, we had to make the sad decision to have her put down.  John and his staff treated our cat gently at every stage of her treatment. She was a truly cantankerous cat at the best of times and she was utterly foul tempered for much of the week or so that she spent at the surgery. But regardless of her mood, the staff were so tender with her. When we had to let her go the staff were caring and supportive throughout.

We have since brought a new cat into the family and he actually enjoys his vet visits.  Not the process of having his teeth checked or having his temperature taken perhaps, but he is interested and relaxed when he visits. He doesn't even get upset on the odd occasion when John's own standard poodle, Spike, visits the waiting room.  During the consultation John is happy to let the cat jump off the examination table and prowl the room, investigating thoroughly while John addresses any concerns I might have; I think this relaxed approach helps our cat to take his vet visits in his stride.

Apart from his checkups, on two occasions our cat has required treatment for illness or injury.  Each time, we were offered two possible options for treatment.  On both occasions John has recommended a less invasive and less costly option first, with the prospect of surgery as a secondary option and on both occasions the first treatment has worked well.

I am thoroughly happy with John the Vet's services. I wish I had found him earlier.

John has looked after out beloved lab since she was pup so over 9 years. He is a fantastic vet with a great sense of humor to boot. Has always helped us with issues along the way and provided us with lots of advice print outs and info when asked. He is very calm, respectful and puts your animal at ease even when they have to have a number test such as our dog did a few yeas ago. You can really tell he loves working with animals.

Our 10year old dog insisted on eating something putrid at the local beach & couldn't even stand up by the time we got him to John. John's immediate action saved our dog's life. What else can we say? We are forever grateful.

We got our new puppy and were looking for a good vet around the area.
John the Vet was exactly what we looked for - all our questions were answered and the service was beyond nice.
I'm glad to say that this is our new and only vet :-)

Our 2 dogs have been going there for years. John is always a delight to deal with - treats the dogs as we do (ie people!). He seems to be up on the latest research / thinking about different topics and has a great approach to dealing with any problems. As one of our dogs is now getting quite old, I'm really glad we've got a great vet to rely on.

I took my cat there after a very bad experience with a previous vet that resulted in my cat suffering a severe reaction to an innoculation. They saw him immediately, even though they were in the middle of doing operations, and he was given professional and caring attention. This surgery is now where I will be taking my animals for all their veterinary care.

I have since been going to this surgery for the past 4 years and I can honestly say that they are, by far, the BEST vet practice I have ever attended. John's knowledge and compassion make him an exemplary vet and accompanied by his laconic sense of humour makes visits to see him as pleasant and non-stressful as possible. When I had to have my very ill cat put to sleep John and his staff were so caring and kind and did all they could help me. By far the best practice in the area ... and probably in Melbourne too!

A really great vet

A really great vet

Was reccomended to us by a family member and he hasn't disapointed. John has looked after our two dogs for several years since we moved into the area. On the first visit he identified a problem with one of our dogs that our old vet couldn't diagnose, despite repeated visits. With some medication, the problem was fixed.
