Kids @ Kindy is so unprofessional. I had to go back to work when my baby was around 8-month-old. Back then I was very desperate to find a full-time spot for her in a childcare centre as there were only 4 centres in the vicinity that accepts kids under 2 years of age. I was a first-time mom and didnt know what to look for when choosing among different childcare centres. Very unfortunately I chose Kids @ Kindy in Caringbah. Kids in there have the so-called extended outdoor play almost every day (oh yes, thats what they wrote on my babys communication book) even when its freezing outside during winter. In the morning I would put on a cardigan for my baby. But the carers would take it off for her perhaps in the afternoon when its getting warm outside. OK, fair enough. However, they didnt put it back on for her when it gets cold in the late afternoon. Very often when I arrived in there at 5ish pm (dont forget its winter and it usually starts getting dark and cold at 4ish pm) to pick up my baby, the staff were still keeping all the kids outdoor with little lighting. There was a time I was particularly upset when I saw my gorgeous girl crawling on the dirty floor in the outdoor playground with a runny nose and was wearing only a jumpsuit. When I picked her up from the floor, my heart ached as her face & hands were so cold, the outdoor temperature was only 15 Celsius. One of the carer told me that she was a bit whingey in the afternoon. Of course she was whingey as she was freezing.. poor baby. I asked the other staff that why no one put on the cardigan for her. They didnt even answer my question but said We were about to take the kids inside. Next day I took the matter to the management, they said they would send out a staff memo instructing them that they have to put on cardigans / jumpers for the kids by 4pm everyday (if they have them off in the afternoon). I said to her that all kids should stay indoor after 4 or 4:30pm, but they said that they usually take the kids inside at 5pm (but every time when I picked up my girl, if it wasnt raining/wet, all the kids were still outdoor). I dont understand why they dont bring the kids inside when it starts getting cold outside. Its common sense that if its cold outside, let the kids stay indoor. -/tThere are 3 different groups for kids with different ages, but only 1 supervisor. Its ridiculous that some staff would start their shift of the day at 3pm. There were numerous times when I picked up my girl in the late afternoon and asked the so-called carers how she was doing during the day, they couldnt answer me but said oh I only started at 3pm today, I dont know -/ Every time when I picked up my baby, there were some sand on her face & hands even though she was left sitting on the highchair waiting for me to pick her up.
