We regularly go for a meal on Friday nights. Great value. Very friendly and informal. Great place for a meal if you have young children. Sushi & Sashimi is some of the freshest and best in Melbourne. We love it!

Came here with a group from work and everyone really enjoyed their meal. The staff were very friendly and quick. Some more vegan options would be fantastic.

Thanks guys!

Really generous servings and great fast service, beautiful food prepared with style and tasty. Lots of variety for good value. I was impressed. Cafe style so not fine dining restaurant, but it suited me and kids.

I am an Ormond local, so I am always looking for good local restaurants to dine at. As a Japanese, I stumbled across this restaurant when I was craving some sushi one day. I tried their chicken teriyaki roll and, I must say I was really impressed. It was comparable to the sushi that my mother used to prepare for me when I was young. I recommended this to my friends and all of them loved it. The one bad thing that i must say is, that during lunchtime, there is only one waitress working, so service can be a little slow at times. Nonetheless, the waitress is always friendly and very welcoming.

This is probably my favourite japanese restaurant ive been to. I love my fried rice, and the japanese fried rice they make is amazing. I also love their vegetarian spring rolls, and really everything else I've tried on the menu. I usually just have take away, but for the short time i am in the store the staff are always really lovely. They also have a sushi bar, which is up to a normal standard - i have had it once or twice but im not the biggest fan of cold meat, so not the easiest thing for me to critique

Needed to bring a plate for a party and was quite disorganised. Had the brainwave of bringing a platter of sushi (actually California hand-rolls). Called and ordered it and picked it up on the way. Brilliant quality. Everyone loved it and it was so easy!

Approximate cost: $38 for a large platter

Friendly service, clean and attractive decor-but most importantly great food and value for money! The vegetarian gyoza were huge -twice the size of others I've had and perfectly cooked and fresh! We had a veritable banguet(vegan) of different entrees and it was just over 40 dollars for two. Highly recommend !!!

Best sushi I've had in Melbourne! I recommend trying the chicken teriyaki sushi roll. The sushi are so fresh and in some cases, they can make it fresh when you order. On their main menu, I also recommend trying the Yaki Udon with beef - udon noodles, beef slices mixed with beef cauliflower, broccoli and other Asian greens. The mains are very large and reasonably priced too!

If you're looking for a little Japanese restaurant in Melbourne, definitely pop down to Kinkaku. If you can't eat in, you can also call in and order take-away. Friendly staff and very good Japanese food! Highly recommended!

AMAZING SUSHI and Japanese food! Probably one of the best I've had. They are almost made to order in terms of freshness, they only seem to use real fresh ingredients. They are generous with the serving sizes and they do not skim on quality. Highly recommended if you are ever needing a Sushi fix!

I discovered this hidden gem tucked away on North Road when I started working in Ormond last year. They make really delicious Japanese food of a very high quality.

They freshly prepare sushi handrolls when you order them so they're always fresh; the rice warm and perfectly cooked (no sitting around in refrigerated cabinets for goodness knows how long!) The cost of the handrolls during weekday lunchtimes starts from $2.30 each(!!!) which is extremely competitive when compared to other sushi places in Melbourne - especially considering their size and freshness!

I've eaten in and had takeaway from their main menu as well and I find that the portion sizes are huge (you'll never walk out hungry) and that the prices are very reasonable. I love the Bento boxes. The Yaki Udon is REALLY good too and highly recommended!

The owners are really polite and friendly and the service is great. You'll never walk away unhappy and you'll never want to go anywhere else!

I go there regularly and the food is always great! Always fresh and never too oily. The sushi is amazing too. Reasonably priced for what you get, you will never leave with an empty stomach and you'll always be satisfied. I recommend the udon or soba noodles and the gyozas.

I had been a regular customer at Kinkaku when I lived beside it. The hotfood is quite good but for me it is a bit expensive than it worths. The best is their sushi, very fresh and good value. During lunch time they offer $2.20 per roll which is incredibly fantastic!!!

Best sushi I have ever had! They usually make it when you order - so you know that the ingredients are fresh and that it hasn't been sitting at the counter for hours, which definitely is reflected in the quality of the sushi. My boyfriend and I haven't been able to go anywhere else since we started eating there!

Approximate cost: $2.20 (roughly per sushi)

This is a good local Japanese restaurant. I wouldn't say its the best value for money but the quality of the food is decent. I don't think sushi is their speciality but they make great bento boxes for lunch as well as great soups.
