This pharmacy have been at this location forever - almost. But that just gives you an idea of the equity in and level of knowledge they have about the local people and area.

Peter Kofoed, the head pharmacist here, knew my mother and has known my family for many years. He asks after all our health every time I go in.

It's a small place but they have everything you need. They are situated along the Hall Street small strip shopping centre opposite Newport station.

They have an excellent prescription dispensing service. And Mr Kofoed is one of the most diligent pharmacists I know. He will ring the doctor immediately in the case of unclear handwriting when doses of medicine are in doubt.

He gives you extra advice as to their effects and how you should take them. And he knows, since his experience is massive. The trust factor I have here is immense.

They also carry the usual range of off the shelf medicines and have gifts, toiletries etc.

Because they are a small place you don't have to wait ages like the big "chain" stores, and if you have to pay a couple of dollars extra, I'd say it's worth it for the level of personal care you receive.

Old fashioned service but modern ideas. Highly recommended.
