Fabulous food here and a wonderful nursery. Just watch out for the kookaburras when dining outside! This is a GREAT place to take your mum for lunch or coffees.

We have eaten at the restaurant and bought plants from their nursery. They are very helpful and knowledgeable in the nursery which provides a beautiful backdrop for the restaurant. The produce is mostly native and tastes great, I especially like the gnocchi and scones. We have gone back for seconds for the deserts.

Approximate cost: $16-18

The food is always very well presented and yummy. The staff are quite friendly and it is set in a lovely environment. Although I am not into gardening myself, hence I dont take advantage of the native nursery, I still like to go to the cafe to meet up with my girlfriends for coffee or lunch.

Great nursery, especially those interested in native plants. Service is fantastic, great giftware area and an outstanding cafeteria which is small with yummy food (with a native flavour).

After reading a review in The Age, we thought it would be great for a little weekend trip. On arrival, the service was prompt. Coffee orders quickly taken as well as our little lunchtime temptations. That's when things started to slide. The coffee, while pleasant, was not made to urban specifications.
After waiting another fifteen minutes, the waitress comes back and tell us that one of the dishes we wanted was sold out and if we could quickly make another choice. Soon after, it became apparent that nobody was getting served any food. A table to ten next to us only had drinks; a further walk around the venue revealed very few people having meals (although one of the wait staff was in a corner tucking into a salad!). We knew then that we weren't going to be fed today.
We went to the counter and paid for coffee. They tried to charge us for meals but we mentioned that we never got that far. The guy at the register then openly berated the other wait-staff, accusing them of having a mother's group and inferred that they were responsible for not only us leaving but a bunch of other peopl. Odd that he does this given that they actually don't do any of the cooking.
All's the pity. It was a nice venue and could have been fun. I don't know why he didn't offer us something (a cookie, a free coffee) to have while we toured the grounds until he could fix up our meals. Pity.

The food was excellent! Very Australian Styled. You get what you pay for in the cafe', but the gift shop and plants are overpriced. Poor Service in the nursery. Yes, you could get a better price in Bunnings, but I'd prefer to spend my money at Kuranga, Mt Evelyn Garden Centre or Garden-world, as there are the 3 nurserys along York Rd.

Approximate cost: $12-$18

I love this place - the food is a little different to mainstream, and is just beautiful. The nursery is gorgeous to and my two little one's love it when we go there because there is so much to look at (although I have to keep them tightly restrained in the gift shop!!) The gift shop has some amazingly beautiful and original things - I think that most of it is local produce and artists etc, but it is very pricey too. We like to sit outside for brunch on a sunny day.

An excellent native nursery. They are a little pricey - you can get similar plants cheaper at Bunnings - however, they have an excellent range of native Australian plants.

As well as a beautifully laid out nursery with a wide range of additions for your garden, Kuranga has a wonderful cafe. The Paperbark Cafe has an excellent variety of meals and snacks. Their scones with macadamia butter are wonderful!

As a part of the nursery, there is a gift shop that has a wide selection of Australian made items. From sauces and relishes to incense and soaps. When I am looking for a gift for friends overseas, this is the first place I go to.

Excellent range of native plants. Helpful and friendly staff. The Paperbark Cafe has a mouth-watering menu and the devonshire tea is excellent

Fantastic place to find native plants and the Nursery staff (although always busy) give really helpful advice about which plants would be best suited to your area. We went with a rough idea that we wanted some large shrubs (up to 4m) and left with a list of all small, medium and large shrubs and trees most suited to our soil type and climate. The Cafe is OK for standard cake/coffee or lunches. The gift shop is great for finding that slightly unusual gift of for taking visitors from overseas to.

Approximate cost: $14
