I hate cold pools but this place heats the water to a nice, comfortable temperature and they have separate pools for kids and different levels of swimmers.

The aerobic classes at this acquatic centre are quite good and there are a variety of classes to choose from, all the instructors are friendly and have been around a while to know what they are doing. They have a nice pool area, the change rooms are a bit crowded sometimes and a bit wet due to the pool use. The only negative thing I can say about this is that sometimes you have to wait a little while for someone to serve you because there are not enough staff or they are too busy especially when there are aerobics classes about to begin.

We've had a couple of great days out at this new swimming complex. The kids particularly like the "beach entry" pool which is great for non-confident children who can play in the shallows.

There are about three pools here to cater for all ages and skill levels of swimmers, and heated to just a nice temperature.

There's a huge carpark and it's just across the road from an entry to Highpoint shopping centre so you could visit this for a bit of shopping before or after your swim.

There's also childcare and occasional care here too, but make sure you book ahead.

There's a wheel chair sauna and massage rooms - lots of features I haven't used, but they all look wonderfully clean and well maintained.

A nice outing on a hot day or anytime really.

Approximate cost: $Family swim $17.00

The beach entry sounds great for small children

I have been swimming at the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre a couple of times while my husband was working nearby. The pools themselves were very clean and looked as though they were well maintained, as were the change rooms and showers. The indoor pools are heated to a good temperature - not too hot but not too cold! It can get busy but the pools never seem to be that busy that you cannot properly swim like other pools can.

They do have an extensive gymnasium with large group classes and relatively new looking equipment, however I have not used the gym facilities.

I visit the centre 2 - 3 times a week on average as a senior/pensioner. I pay $58 for ten visits for which i gain access to the pools, including a heated exercise pool, a large spa, a sauna, and a steam room. I can also access the well equipped gym and participate in 3 aqua sessions and a dumbells session every week without an extra charge. These are run by qualified people and geared to seniors. After each senior's session you can get a free instant coffee/tea at the cafe.A good deal and a great program sponsored by the Maribyrnong Council! And you don' have to live in the municipality to benefit. My local council (nearby) doesn't go close to matching this!!

I've never used the gym here - which looks well stocked with a lot of equipment - but I've given the pools a bit of a flogging. Good water spaces allow for the hardcore swimmers to do their thing whilst the casual, not-as-serious swimmer like me also doesn't miss out. Good kiddy pools as well.

I've only ever used the pool (not the Gym) I like that it has a 50m pool - although it's more often than not divided in two. The warm water exercise pool is great.
Change rooms are pretty gross - but I know they are being updates (or may have been already? I haven't been there for a few months)
I love womens swim night every second Sunday night...the 50m pool is open and I usually get my own lane - bliss!

It's not a bad pool, but can get seriously overcrowded on hot summer days. i had a fun time and it can be enjoyed by the community. Parking is a bit of a problem, but there is a tram stop right outside it so you could catch the tram there if you would like to. Service at the food bit is really bad. They never have enough hot food and you have to wait a long time for them to cook it and then give some to other people aswel as yourself.

I am a regular user of the pool and gym and the facilities are great. Everything is very well maintained, the facility is in a very convenient location right next to Highpoint, and the staff are all very friendly and supportive.

Approximate cost: $50
