I went here on a Sunday for lunch. They had run out of my first choice. We wanted to sit outside but had to sit at a dirty table with used glasses/mugs. We waited a long time for the food. They served me the wrong dish, then forgot to bring the right dish and didnt clean away the used glasses until they were clearing our plates up so we sat with them the whole time. The food was ok ...but service not ok.

This is a bookshop with a very friendly atmosphere, and lots of great books. It's also a relaxing place to have a cup of coffee, a snack or a light meal. There are also associated activities such as story reading for children, book club and writers group.

Good little cafe within bookstore. Good selection of lunch options, cakes and drinks on offer. Prices average. Good friendly service.

Mary ryan at orion shops is a lovely little book shop. Great hot coffee and service is always lovely bright and friendly. They have a great story time session for the kids which my son enjoys regularly. Books expensive but have a good enough range for a small shop

I have been going to Mary Ryan's now for about 3 years. It is not just a book shop. There are a lot of other things to see there, like ABC CDs and DVDs, calendars, magazines etc. and cafe food. It also is my local book club, and I have made a number of friends there, including the proprietor and the manager, as well as the ladies who serve at the counter and in the cafe. The propietor and manager are very knowledgeable about the books and also will get special books in on order if they are available. They use the internet to find out if they are still in print. As well as all of this they and other stores in the chain have event days, which are usually talks by authors, but also a variety of other things.
