They turned up late and said we needed to pay cash as now the “Eftpos machine was broken”. They would only move one item at a time and damaged our possessions: the driver said speak to the office, and the office said speak to driver. Because we complained about the damage, they threatened that if we didn’t pay cash before the job was completed that they would take our possessions. The only time I saw two items moved at once was when the driver used a box to cover a large scratch he had put in a wood table. They have refused to issue us with a Tax Invoice and have blocked us from contacting them as we said we wanted our possessions fixed and proof of payment. We only used them to move large items and a few boxes.
$605 for 5 hours work moving only large items 1km away + $1,000 to fix the damage.
Recommend that you go with a more reputable company because it will cost you more in repairs then what you think you are saving

Worst customer service. Booked well in advance with Sam, but twice they cancelled my job last minute, offering no apology, no fee reduction, just rude, arrogant attitude.

DO NOT USE OR TRUST MELBOURNE CHEAP MOVERS or any removalists or companies founded by Sam and Lucky.
I made the mistake of using them for my move - JOB #12286 - 1 bedroom apartment from suburb to suburb - and while the first 2x calls until I booked were "great" it went downhill from there.
They promised me they would pack all my belongings and transport them in 8 hrs (give or take an hour) and "not to worry as they are professionals!

In short - they arrived 90 mins late, no packing materials, had to go get some, constantly told me they don't normally do the packing and had no experience in doing so were VERY slow, complained the entire time about the job, locked the keys of the truck in the cab, smashed my washing machine down the stairs (and it wasn't tied onto the trolley) causing other tenants to come out to see what was going on, he called HO in front of us ALL and assured me their Insurance would replace the machine and then just left it on the footpath, held me to ransom for full payment before they would unload my belongings and then proceeded to unload and just dump everything with no care or any sense of order. Most boxes were not labelled or if they were it was random, they never provided the screws to reassemble my bed - and all this took HOURS over the quote!!

To be honest - I felt sorry for the guys - they were obviously out of their depth and had not receive accurate information about the job from their HO. And I tried ot call HO a few times during the day - and they put me on hold the first time and never came back, and never answered any calls after that!

Sim from their Resolutions contacted me the following week, said the Driver had told them they slipped on water and also because my machine was used they'd offer me $200!! I asked in 2x phone calls for them to submit their offer and how they got to it in writing to me and they flat out refused, and now they want to deduct $190 for packaging they forgot to charge me for (I've already paid them over $1300) - oh and NOW - 3 WEEKS LATER say "the driver denied doing any damage to the washing machine" which is a total lie as I have text admission from him, witnesses and photos!! Also - as their website states - they have insurance for any accidents in moving !!!

They then send me an email today advising me they are going out of business at the end of the month due to SLOW Business - I am not surprised. Regardless, they should have insurance to cover my loss, they should never have lied to me and I will be contacting the ACCC and AFRA tomorrow to report them and their owners (ABN ABN 87 144 760 921) so they cant "reopen" and do this to others!! DO NOT USE EVER!!!

WOW! Last minute booking and they were more than happy to fit us in the staff on the phone was so polite and I was even more blown away by the staff that came out to the job - on time, well presented and such hard workers - they clearly love their job, We had quite a few large items of furniture and they moved them with no issues at all.

I have used their packing services on quite a few occasions now and the staff are very quick and careful when packing - we had so many glass and ceramic items to be packed and nothing was damaged! - Highly recommended such a great service. Thanks again for the great work!

I recently booked Melbourne Cheap Movers when we moved rental properties - The staff were so friendly and so quick packing up all our furniture, I was very very impressed! Hard Working staff that clearly love their job. Everything was completed quickly - Was such a stress-free day for me

The name says it all

They were late to the job, drove 15kms under the speed limit, it took them 45 minutes to get to Moonee Ponds from Essendon (usually a 5 min trip in peak hour) we also had a drop off to do prior to my things coming to my place, and they packed the first things out at the back of the truck, so wasted more time and money getting them out

They took hours to unload, and severely damaged most of my furniture

$1,000 butchers bench, they broke the wheels off, and tried to put them back on (twice) but only caused more damage

$500 chest, deep scratches and dints all over, and chips and chunks taken out of it

$600 fridge, no longer working

$200 white shelving with scratches all down one side

boxes were brought in upside down - so don't put anything in that will open

Have contacted the company on numerous occasions, with the promise of a resolution, but nothing as small as a phone call back as yet (almost one week)

The manager even said the removalists never saw the fridge in working order, so it can't be confirmed it they are at fault for the fridge, which is interesting, because when they arrived I was emptying out the fridge and they asked if they could have some of the cold water from the fridge

I should mention I was made to pay full price because insurance would cover loss and damages!

*update* was offered $250 compensation, or insurance with an excess cost of $450 payable by me (more than the actual cost of moving) - now in contact with my lawyer

OVER $2,500 WORTH OF DAMAGE

Disgusting, after nearly two months of trying to come to a resolution regarding the damage to my furniture, and the company sending me back and forth for quotes - they then had the audacity to say the drivers never saw any damage, therefore the company isnt liable (even after agreeing to have insurance cover the loss and damage). They also said they received my job sheet saying the furniture was received in good condition

I took a photo of the job sheet, outlining what they broke - they weren't too happy when I told them I have evidence!

Moved with these guys few weeks ago, on a hot and humid morning and these guys worked hard to move me from northcote to bayside, in record time with no stress. They took it all their stride when the new building posed unexpected issues, with humour and professionalism. Will use again!
