Absolute amazing move. The mover did a good job. And you guys are the cheapest in this industry.

Will use you again next month for the whole house move.

$95 per hour for a 4 tonne truck and 2 men is probably one of the better priced....but sometimes you do get what you pay for. The guys were late and didn't call to tell me until I had already waited 45mins...they said they had just finished another job and said they will be another 30mins.
Since it was charged by the hour we didn't want to waste time so we started to move all our stuff into the driveway so that all they needed to do was load the truck. My husband and I had moved over 80% of our stuff into the garage and driveway by the time they arrived.
When we were ready to go I asked the guys if they knew the way expecting them to say yes because I have already given the destination address at the time of booking but they said they will follow me. I said I was going the tollway and they said they charge $15 extra for the toll which was something extra that I didn't take into account for.
The thing that really frustrated me was that they were driving 10km below the speed limit the whole way even in the 60 and 70 zones, I had to slow down to their speed for the whole 50min trip and ended up losing them at some lights towards the end of the trip. I waited 10 mins at my destination before they arrived. I don't know if this is their strategy to buy more time but I wasn't happy about that.
Overall the service definitely wasn't something you would call professional or efficient.

Approximate cost: $300

Hi Pli2996, Thanks for a detailed review. Unfortunately, many people get suckered in to paying removalists 'by the hour', often with (financially) detrimental results. This is why we always prebook a home visit so that a written quote can be obtained. This way, we are covered financially and the only thing we need to worry about is the potential for damage. Thanks again for a great review. Reeces

Got the guys to move furniture from my Mum's heavily furnished house on the weekend. They were absolute machines who never stopped moving the entire time.
We got a 6 tonne with 3 removalists and it was done in half the time I thought it would take.
They're now helping her out by quoting a price to clean the house.
This is the easiest move I've ever experienced.

Approximate cost: $130

These guys were on time, did the job with no complaints and seemed satisfactory in their knowledge of removals. A few niggly things let the quality of their service down, but nothing major. I'm not sure I would use them to move a whole house, but certainly for small moves such as a few items of furniture I may use again.

First off we ordered a 6t truck for 11am, in the end we got a 4t truck at around 4pm so not only did they start very late but it cost me more money as they had the wrong truck and needed two trips... (They finished well after dark and they had another job they were meant to do after us, but those people cancelled).

Their equipment was also rather inadequate (small trolley not good for heavy items like fridge, resulting in serious struggle even with my help)...

- Fridge was partly damaged (nothing too serious I don't think just drip tray).
- Various pieces of furnture were scratched/dented.
- Antique side board had two parts they didn't unscrew them resulting in the top falling off, lucky not too much damage but a lot of marks and scratches, then the HAMMERED out the screws rather than unscrew them from the bottom section).. DISGRACEFUL..
- They obviously don't know you aren't meant to lay plasma TVs down flat..

If you don't care too much about your furniture, or don't have anything too delicate to transport then they are pretty cheap.. BUT as per usual you get what you pay for........

I don't completely blaim the guys working, they had inadequate equipment (in my opinion, certainly the truck was resulting in multiple trips) and were expected to move three (3-4 bedroom) houses across Melbourne all in one day..

IMPORTANT ALSO PLEASE NOTE: A lot of the reviews on this page for 4-5 stars are from people who have only ever done 1 review and 10% trust factor, draw your own conclusions!!!!!

Hi Joel and Reece.

Few things I want to strongly point out:

-Yes it seems this company attempts to write its own reviews - this can often be caught out with the ridiculous false claims they make such as the 'satisfied (fake) customer' describes getting services the company actually doesn't offer, etc.

-This company currently operates under Oz Cheap Movers - name change. This company also operates under the website/name Move4Cheap.com.au - website address + name change. I confirmed the Oz Cheap Movers change when they attempted to provide me with a quote and I asked, them not realising I was the person they screwed over last year. The Move4Cheap name change I confirmed through the fact that the MelbourneCheapMovers site is no longer available, yet the new website Move4Cheap now exists with all of the EXACT same information, offers, descriptions and EXACT SAME layout.

-This company cycles through business names faster than it goes through ABNs - Move4Cheap (checked yesterday) does not have an ABN approved with ServiceSeeking but is an active member there and tried to quote me on the same day as the first quote above, using a different mobile number but I believe it was the same person.

-I had the same horrible experiences as Joel and can confirm all of his commentary as fact. The company is a horrible disappointment.

-There may be a HUGE legal issue here if they are continually changing names and continuing to scam others under different names. Obviously the company needs to grow up or stop trying. This may require an investigation by an Ombudsman or higher to ensure the person behind these companies is arrested and permanently barred from registering any ABNs and from operating in the movers industry.

-Lastly but VERY importantly - do NOT give your personal details to them. No matter how they contact you, do NOT give details. Their staff are intimidating and aggressive, and I am avoiding providing too much information as I fear they will actually use these details illegally or attempt to come to my home. I truly believe they would do this so I strongly urge you not to tell them anything about yourself. Be very careful and if you suspect anything at all, do not hesitate to inform the police.

Sorry - looks like their old site is back up and varies to the move4cheap. My mistake - but I still think I may have spoken to the same guy when move4cheap called and when oz cheap movers called. Nothing concrete on move4cheap.

Tanipani - If you look on here (womo) you will see the description for both companies is the same, and some 2 time reviewers have simply reviewed them both at almost the same time.. Draw your own conclusion.. ;-)

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! BE CAREFUL!
Truck got late for 3 hours and caused caught in heavy traffic hour.
1 day promised job didn't finish and they organized next day moving from 7am
but got canceled without any contact which mucked all my day up as I was organizing
house cleaner from 10am. Lucky I could find other company to help me load everything out
by 10am for cleaning but this company is THE WORST ORGANIZATION and NON PROFESSIONAL... 1 word "USELESS"

Approximate cost: $100

Wish I had paid attention to this review and not all the other 10% trust reviews talking about how 'great' this group is...

Yet another shameful experience. Thank you for letting the public know about this. Reeces

I guess there always has to be a first time for a bad review. We started of pretty okay with these guys, scheduled an appointment they appeared responsive also sent us an email to confirm the date, we had our stuff ready to go so called in and requested them to come a day earlier, we agreed to a time 3 am fri that was convenient for them, no issues as that day was allocated as moving day, husband took a day off as well. I stayed at my new place while my husband stayed at the old place with the boxes, dismantled the bed, did all that was required to make it efficient. So he waited to het the show on the road, 3 am becomes 3:15 so he's thinking maybe they are stuck, the right approach would be for them to call us and inform us that they are running late instead my husband calls them at 3:30 and they are we are running late and they would be 40minutes late, when I heard this I was like are you kidding me?? Fortunately I had no mobile access as my mobile required chafing or else they would got a piece of my mind. Anyway my husband continues to wait 45 minutes later these guys still dont call. Long story short my husband calls back again only to find out that apparently their vehicle broke down and waiting for the RACV, so again the missed the concept of courtesy by calling us and explaining the situation with an apology. We did all the calls and if my husband didn't make that last call he would be spending the evening waiting on these guys. Really I was appalled and Im happy we cancelled it. The professionalism really fell through for us and I would expect a letter of apology as they did miss out on us spreading the word.

Approximate cost: $75

These guys made moving quite enjoyable. They were very helpful, broke NOTHING, were fun to talk to and took the stress out of it

As renters in Melbourne, we've used a few removalists before, some good (see my review for Fragile Removals) and others less so (see my review for another company whom I won't name here).

We decided to use Melbourne Cheap Movers this time as our two choices for moving day were a Sunday or a public holiday, both of which would mean a much higher cost with any other company.

However, I'm really glad that we chose these guys - not only are their prices very reasonable, they were also very professional, sending me an email to confirm the booking I'd made online, then a text to remind me of it. Rocky and the boys were on tine and worked really hard, completing the move quickly and efficiently.

Thank you, boys, for all of your hard work - it was much appreciated!
