Walking into Misty's is like walking into a huge ad for the U.S.A. The décor is very kitsch. My chilli con carne with potato skins was really nice and my colleagues quesadillas were excellent. It's definitely not a place you want to dine at if you're watching your weight! OK ... it's not cheap but once you allow for the amount of food on the plates I found the prices understandable.

A bit disappointing for me. My husband wanted to go here after hearing raves about it on the radio but, admittedly we did get there early one saturday morning, however they were out of a lot of the menu items we wanted to order and the waitress said she could only make a few things as she doesn't always cook there. It was a little pricey and the meal i had was definatley not a wow. Very disorganised and now i would be hesitant to go back

I really want to try this place but I see maybe I should be careful about what time I go.

I'm sorry you had such a poor experience. I would definitely recommend trying the diner again. I find it is best to book ahead and go around dinner time (after 4:30 PM) - there seem to be more staff around at that time of the evening, and usually all items are available :)

I refuse to go there after I heard staff gossiping about customers and not quietly either.Plenty of other options especially given their prices.

This place is just a fun fun place to go and have some thing to eat and just hang out. There really is nothing else like it as far as I know of in Melbourne. The portions are great size and really good value. They also sell a lot of imported sweets and drinks for you to take home if you want.

The food at Mistys comes in massive portions, and I adore the 1950s decor, but the price is a bit much I think. I had the jalapeño poppers (which could have been a full meal in itself there were so many!) and a burger. The bread with the burger was not the best, too sweet and spongy, I would have preferred a more home made taste, and our carrot sticks with our "dips n sticks" were obviously cut about three days before and refrigerated, but we did have a good time and they have a huge range of American sweets too!

Approximate cost: $25

One of my favourite places to go too, i love the atmosphere, the american lollies & chocolates you can buy at the counter, the music, the staffs 50s attire, the whole place is great .. and then the food! Delicious oreo thickshake, i had chicken pieces & chips the last time i went and they were delicious with a nice bbq sauce to boot, my partner hadnt been before and he loved his huge burger, couldnt finish
ps: their peacan pie is to die for.. but you probably wont have any room after a meal!

Approximate cost: $12

I have been a few times and its a nice diner experience. I have been to the USA and while its not the exact thing, it still is close to the experience of a true diner. Great decor and feel, food is yummy and priced well. Service is a bit up and down but overall, a good fun place to go to grab a bite and listen to some funky old tunes!

Approximate cost: $10

I've been to Misty's a few times now, and I absolutely adore it! As a huge fan of the American '50s theme, I had been dying to try it out! I have enjoyed my meals and drinks every time I have visited! The menu has such a wide variety, but I discovered may not be suitable for some fussy eaters. Most items on the menu are a little overpriced, but I suppose that is to be expected at such a place.

Each time I have found myself waiting several minutes before even being greeted by staff, but once I've gotten their attention they have been friendly and attentive. Although food and drinks can take a while to be prepared and sent out to the table, I have never had an issue with an order arriving incorrectly.

The diner would be a great place to celebrate a birthday or great for people visiting from out of town and looking for a unique dining experience

Great place for some comfort food and if you want to stuff your face! The ribs are delicious and as for the Reece's pie, I have no words. Only qualm is it's a little pricey and for an 'American' style diner I would have expected portions to be much larger.
