Penrith branch of Mitsubishi has to been the best buying a new car experience we have had ever.
Peter (assistant Sales Manager) was friendly, had a sense of humor, wasn't pushy and very helpful without being over the top.
I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to buy a new car.
After sales experience has been great too, whereas most don't want to know you once they have sold the car.

I owned a 1997 TE Mitsubishi Magna. THIS WAS A CAR FROM HELL. For the last 7 years, it had an intermittent problem where it would not start. The problem might crop up a few times per year, once per month or even once per week. To get the car to start would take anything from a few minutes to 3 days. I could be stranded anywhere, even in a clearway at peak hours. The problem was electronic, not temperature or vibration related. The RACV and Ultratune determined it was an electronic problem signalling the fuel injectors, but they could not track the problem because the car would just start as they were diagnosing it. The log on the car's computer showed nothing. The car had been towed several times. A Mitsubishi dealer's service centre had the car for a few weeks and it failed once but as they were trying to trace the cause of the fault when it cropped up once, the problem disappeared. They tried hard and spent many hours on it and tried a few circuit modifications. I tried to get the circuit diagrams to debug the problem myself but the manufacturer of the electronics, Yazaki (Australian Arrow) had lost the circuit diagrams. I re-soldered every solder joint on some electronic circuit boards and re-plugged all cables - still no fix. I phoned the Mitsubishi factory in Adelaide telling them about the problem and they said there is nothing they can do. They were simply not interested. They would not even offer a discount on a replacement car. In the end I sold the car at scrap value. This car caused me depression, stress and anxiety. The amount of time and money I spent because of this problem beggars belief. I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A MITSUBISHI PRODUCT AS LONG AS I LIVE, whether it be a car, an air-conditioner or anything that bears the Mitsubishi name. They are banned for life as far as I am concerned. The law should be changed so that cars that are lemons can be replaced at part of the manufacturer's expense. At least the US has laws protecting the consumer from crap.

How much did you spend on fixing it?

I spent about 2000 dollars on diagnosis form thrid parties. If I included my time at $50 per hour, it would amount to about $10000 more.

My mother bought a Mitsubishi Lancer back in 2005 and it has never had any problems at all. The customer service was excellent, even have us a courtesy call to see if we had any problems with the car.

Having purchased a new model Mitsubishi Outlander during 2007, I expected that when my vehicle was damaged in an attempted break-in that there would be drivers' door parts readily available in Australia. But no. My car is expected to be off the road for SIX WEEKS as these simple door handle and electronics parts get sent out from Japan. After two weeks of funding my own rental car and a week of a loaner from the repairers, Mitsubishi organised a free rental for me.

I would hesitate seriously to purchase another new Mitsubishi having experienced their parts inventory failure.

For a vandal simply sticking a screwdriver in the door lock, Mitsubishi owners are expected to wait six weeks for parts. This is ridiculous.
