I bought a phone from MobiCity in May 2014. It has been repaired twice under warranty. This is the third time I have sent it back, and no-one, not Yatango (who bought MobiCity) nor Aussie Services is able to provide me with an update. According to their policy they should be replacing this phone. But all my attempts at contact are brushed off - they say they will call me back, or email. No response. Extremely frustrating as I am without a decent phone and use it for work. No sense of urgency or responsibility. I have been calling or emailing almost every day for a week with no outcome.
I would not buy from them again based on their poor service.

They are OK if the product is in stock the problem is they appear to say 'in stock, fast shipping' even when the item is out of stock.. I even paid extra for express post and nothing sent, I contacted them and got the runaround and no admission of the fact it was not in stock, despite my direct question..

I contacted them again on phone and got them to admit the warehouse is actually waiting for stock with no idea of when it will arrive... Of course on the website it still says "in stock, fast delivery", I requested a refund and they said it will take 5 days to process..

Yeah great company...

Approximate cost: $500

P.S. They are NOT based in QLD, everything comes out of Hong Kong and they are a Hong Kong company as stated on their own website..

Yes true the 'warehouse' I was referring to that had no stock was their HK one, they were trying to get stock from the supplier despite claims it was 'in-stock' on the warehouse..

Hi Joel77, pity you werenâ??t aware of their offshore location prior to conducting business with them. If you have the time, please confirm how long it takes them to refund your money. We appreciate your disclosure and will be sure to add this business to our â??Best Avoidedâ?? listing. Regards, Reeces

I ordered a new phone from them. They sent the wrong one (Sony Xperia 3G instead of 4G) which we only realised after a day of use. Returning the phone was reasonably trouble free, they arranged a courier to pick it up. But then they couldn't send me the correct phone as they could no longer get it. When I requested a refund they offered me other options but none were close to what I wanted. We ended up requesting a Samsung S4 and was hoping after the mucking about they would not charge the $40 extra. They let us off $10 but we had to pay another $30. Was anticipating this phone arriving fast but after waiting a few days and then chasing it up it transpired that they had none in Australia and it was on it's way from Hong Kong. I will give them credit for dealing with the product sent in error, but the wait and lack of info about the replacement phone wasn't great. I only saved $100 compared to bricks & mortar retail and in hindsight I should have gone direct to Samsung & bought the phone.

Approximate cost: $640

Hi Oneginbird, thanks for sharing your less than optimal experience with us. Certainly sounds like this business could improve their level of customer service. Thanks for the heads-up! Regards, Reeces

After placing an order for a mobile phone in December, I was advised in January that the one I ordered was unavailable after a few emails instigated by me I was told I could have a different colour, to me this was false advertising ad the advert said they were in stock. I therefore cancelled the order and went elsewhere........ Where is customer service these days!

Thanks for your review, I tried to contact them regarding a new phone a few times. They were really unhelpful.

Hi Ronid, thanks for your comments. It would be great if the business in question would read these (and other) reviews and lift their game accordingly however given the nature of the business we sincerely doubt this will happen. After taking a closer look at the more positive reviews, we have reason to believe that some of them are suspicious. Thanks again for sharing your experience with the WOMO community. Regards, Reeces

Bought a phone from these guys a year ago, and was impressed at the easy to use website, great prices and good service. When my phone was sadly stolen recently I went straight to MobiCity to buy a replacement, and had the same experience all over again. I'll be back again, but hopefully not to replace another stolen phone! :)

Compared to ebay, it felt much more secure and I felt reassured knowing that there is a Brisbane office. This made the one year warranty actually seem like something real, as opposed to a hearsay/scam type thing that you could find on ebay or other unreputable sites.

My online buying experience was smooth and the transaction was straight-forward and performed without a hitch. I was swayed towards buying from MobiCity due to the strong online presence and very favourable comments from existing customers on the Whirlpool forums.

Approximate cost: $800

While I did find other sites that are a little bit cheaper, the fact that they are an Australian-based company and I've had a good experience with you before is what tipped the scales to go with mobicity.

I was also swayed to use mobicity from the positive feedback the company has received in the whirlpool forums.

Clean website. Not bogged down in flash, which was great. Would look nicer if it was expanded for widescreen monitors, but not really an issue.

Great product range. The fact that you had the HTC Desire HD available so soon was a major reason I bought from you.
