Motorcycle Cruise Controls

Hi Guys, I fitted my cruise in April 2017 to my older 2005 FJR1300 and its been so great. I am a bit old and slow and finally got around to doing the calibrations. (Jan 2018) It had been working really well and i thought it was really good, straight out of the box. However, I went thru the calibrations and just tweaked a few things, set speed increments to 1 instead of 3 and that's real handy when following my mate, can match the speeds a lot closer. I also adjusted the set time response, now its instant. Also set the speed response and it doesn't lag anymore. Back in April I thought what a great product, now after calibrations I think bloody fantastic. If i can offer advice to future buyers, don't wait as long as I did to do the calibrations..:) As far as the quality and service from these guys, exceptional. Kit was superb, instructions were thorough and concise. The cruise is going to be a great help when i cross the Nullabor.

Hi Frank,

I’m back from my 4 week motorcycle ride through three states and 8000kms. All has gone well with the cruise control since replacing the brake light switch. I use the cruise control quite a bit and it's proven to be an excellent after-market buy.

2017 Yamaha FJ-09 MCCruise review

Hey Tony,

After more research online I'm almost 100% positive that my check engine light is due to a wheel speed sensor code. When I ran the calibration of the cruise control, I obviously had the bike on the center stand, driving the rear wheel under power while the front wheel remained stationary. Everything I've read from others doing maintenance on the center stand while running the rear wheel under power mentions they all got wheel speed sensor codes thrown with a CEL being lit. In the pre-2017 bike, owners can see and clear the code from the instrument panel, while those of us with 2017 models do not have the luxury of seeing and clearing our own codes. My trip to the dealer this afternoon will hopefully confirm what I believe is happening. I'll keep you posted.

I finally had a chance to stop in to a dealer yesterday at lunchtime and have the codes pulled and clear my CEL.

As expected, the wheel speed sensor code was present due to the wheel speed mismatch during the calibration. I had a bunch of other codes in there, as well. Most likely due to my plugs-out troubleshooting I ran through when I was checking my connections. In any case, the dealer cleared all the codes, extinguished the check engine light, and I haven't had it come on since.

I've tested the cruise control quite a bit and at several different speeds. In all cases, the cruise control held the set speed +/-1mph during hill ascents and descents. It was particularly windy yesterday, too, and the cruise control even handled changes in wind direction. I could tell on the highway that if a curve brought me head-on into the wind, the bike would dip in speed momentarily and the cruise would compensate almost immediately.

You put together a fantastic product and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Install was very easy. I had to modify the top mount for my oil cooler a bit, but other than that it was a breeze. After a few adjustments the Cruise performed flawlessly! Thanks so much for building this unit. It was sorely needed by a lot of us Harley riders...

Just a note to tell you we installed the unit (MCCruise on a Yamaha XV1900 Roadliner/Stratoliner) and took first extended trip today.

Everything worked to perfection. I could not be more pleased.

This is a second follow up review from our previous review in 2016. Our Boom Mustang Thunderbird 2.0L Trike was fitted with an MCC from new in December 2014 and is, as of September 2017, still working like new. The glitch we had last year was due to a kill-switch importer recall interfering with the settings, which MCC fixed as per my previous review. This cruise control is perfect in every way...easy to use, accurate, stays on speed up hill and down dale. To be able to just sit back, relax and take in the scenery, or be able to concentrate on heavy traffic without watching the speedo is a real boon and, to my way of thinking, also a great safety feature. I just wish they'd make one for our older model Toyota Yaris..I miss my MCC so much when driving the car! Thank you again for this awesome product.

Gentlemen:

I received the connector for the Speedometer sender unit ordered from Corsa Technic as suggested by Steve. I finally got around to installing the new connector yesterday. With the instructional link, also provided by Steve, installation was as easy as a “walk in the park.” A short test ride yesterday resulted in MC Cruise control working as advertised, flawlessly!

I now have the bike re-assembled and am ready to RIDE! Waiting for the remnants of Hurricane Irma to clear out of Kentucky/Tennessee so I can ride in weather WITHOUT rain. Another day or two, I think.

Hey Guys, I purchased a cruise control for my Super Tenere on the 6th September and received promptly on the 8th. Took my time and followed step by step installation and was finished approx 12 hrs later. Instructions were spot on all components fitted perfectly. The 2017 Yamaha FJ09 or MT09 had not been released in Australia yet. My Yamaha dealer in the US was hesitant about the installation. Tony and Frank at MC Cruise did an excellent job of communicating with my Yamaha dealer in the U.S. until the installation was complete. I can't say enough about the level of customer service and MC Cruise's level of commitment to make certain everyone was completely satisfied with the product and installation. Thanks guys!!!!! I bought my MCC in 2005 now in 2017 I and a problem, the guys at MCC could not be more helpful both on the phone and sending excellent instructions with photos for every step to completion. Turns out the speed sensor was out off alignment from a tyre change !
Can not recommend this product enough, easy installation instructions with pictures and after sales service that is second to none.
The Cruise control works perfectly in all conditions

I couldn't be more pleased with the cruise control system I purchased from MCCruise. I have a 2007 FJR1300 that I purchased new in July 2007. The first accessory I added was an MCCruise cruise control system. I installed it myself and I have had it on the bike for the last 10 years and 60,000+ miles. It works just like a factory installed system although cruise control was not offered on the FJR in 2007. I have a GPS on the bike and thus can monitor the actual speed with a very high level of precision. The MCCruise system maintains a very accurate speed with no surging or lagging. It works flawlessly.
The installation instructions were extremely complete and the setup was very simple. Electronic cruise control is a real delight, especially here in Arizona where you really need to keep an eye out for mule deer and elk. I highly recommend this cruise control system.

I have just booked in to get a cruise control fitted onto my 2016 Triumph Thunderbird LT. The reason I chose the product from 'Motorcycle Cruise' was because of my previous experience with their cruise controls.
In 2002 I got a cruise fitted to my Honda Valkyrie, and I must say that during the 15 years I rode this bike, I never had any issues with the functioning of the cruise control unit. It has always worked perfectly through rain, hail and shine, dust and heat.
What I like about this company is that they concentrate on quality, reliability and safety. They're not cheap, but they are probably the best there is in the world.
So if you want a cruise control that is technically cutting edge, rugged and reliable, then I can highly recommend this product.

Hello,

I purchased one of your cruise control kits for my bike several years ago and it has worked flawlessly. After nearly 70,000 kms I have not had one problem and it has been the best addition I have made to the motorcycle. I tell everyone just how great it really is and definitely worth every cent.

This spring when I took my bike out of a lengthy storage I had to replace my motorcycle battery and when I did the unit stopped working. I can power it on and the LED changes colour when I set the speed but then nothing happens. it no longer holds a set speed.

I cannot find the installation instructions to be able to trouble shoot this problem. Can you please send me another copy? if you could scan and email it that would be fantastic! I'm sure it's only a minor thing like I just need to reset the unit or something but at the moment I'm at a loss as to what to do.

I really appreciate your time and effort in helping me.

Manufacturer's note: Most likely the ground wire for the cruise has been left off the battery negative post. All manuals sent by email including diagnosing a stuck solenoid.

Finally got to test the CC on a proper ride a couple of days back. Instant engagement and no drop in speed. Everything works just perfectly.

I have purchased 2 units from MC Cruise. One 6 years ago and one 5 years ago Both units still perform flawlessly. I recently thought I had a problem with one of them and with the help of Frank and Tony it turned out that I had a bad coil. So still no problems with them. They come with the best instructions on how to install. I can't say enough about the product or the gentlemen that sell and service them. Yes I was way out of warranty but they did not hesitate to help me.

Installed a McCruise cruise control on my 2015 FJ-09. Installation went well thanks to the thorough and unambiguous instructions that came with the kit. Read the instructions a couple of times before tackling the install then followed them step by step. Ran the diagnostics before buttoning things up and everything checked out. A test ride confirmed that the cruise control was working properly. I’m a very satisfied customer. Great product!

I'm writing to let you know how much I LOVE my new cruise control! It works as well or better than any cruise control in any vehicle I've ever used. The instructions were fantastic, and we had very little trouble with the installation. I especially liked the photos with the arrows showing exactly where things were, so thanks for that - it helped a lot. It looks fine on the bike, which was the only thing I was even a little bit worried about, but it really looks fine.

You asked my husband where he heard about your company, and I'm not sure he answered. We saw a link to your company in a forum when we were searching for cruise kits for my Dyna. I'm sorry but I don't remember which forum, but that's where we found it at first, and then we researched it from there.

You can be assured that if either of us hears anyone talking about cruise kits or lamenting that you can't put cruise on a Harley-Davidson Dyna model, we will recommend your kits. We're very impressed.

Hi Tony, I got to tell you this system is fantastic. I'm in the process of finishing the wiring and everything is going smooth. There's only one issue and that's the mounting of the solenoid. The front clamp bracket threaded hole already is occupied by what look's like a crankcase purge valve bracket so I had to relocate it without much issue.
I'm very pleased at the quality and the instructions provided. Good on ya mate.
